In reply to: PHP Fatal error in bb-settings.php on line 7
It seems that you install isn’t liking the syntax of your install. Maybe check out this thread on localhost installs for ideas?

In reply to: tuzhak == bozoI don’t think that tuzhak is a bozo actually as their comments are personalized and their link is just to their personal WP site. Remember that I may not always be here, but I constantly check all that is tagged with “modlook”. If tuzhak is reading this, please only post if it has any relevance to the topic……

In reply to: Hooks & Filters DocuI still think that codex.bbpress.org is still the best though to avoid confusion and keep the same design. Someone send something in the developer list again for some ‘more pointed’ discussion on this.
Trent
In reply to: Hooks & Filters Docu@Sam – We talked about this documentation on the bbdevlist before and Matt wanted to lean towards the release of a major release of bbPress before any real start to avoid massive changes to the documentation, so here we sit *sigh*

In reply to: please help to fix the “style-rtl.css”I will play with the stylesheets over the next few days and see if I can find out why it is screwed up. What versions of IE do you have issue with?
Trent
In reply to: BOZO addition? You could try out Sam’s Registration control plugin and blocklist all the domains that are giving you hassle for now. It is just in the plugin directory under /extend/. That might help until 1.0 comes out….

In reply to: Plugin: Avatar UploadI like the plugin! I am also looking at your ‘upload’ function as this could be useful for many other things including an ‘overall’ image uploader for members, attachment mod, etc. Very nice!
Trent
In reply to: Call to undefined function:Darn it….didn’t see this as I was gone for the last week (almost) and we lost one to phpBB. Sorry about that Kenneth! I would be happy to help if you are looking to come back!
Trent
In reply to: Hooks & Filters DocuFair enough
Trent
In reply to: Custom profile data and avatarIt is tapping into the hook to change the bbPress fields, but not the appearance. That is defined somewhere in bbPress and not changed by the plugin. I think that someone else might have to help with that one I am afraid!
Trent
In reply to: Latest Topics for NonWP SiteSorry, wrong syntax, but it does work with:

fel64, you must think I am crazy today eh as I can’t seem to get anything straight the first time!!
Trent
In reply to: login form on wordpress sidebarUnfortunately it does
Are you sure? I can do it because bbPress is using the WP users and I have both setting and using the same cookie. You seriously can’t get this to work? Hmm……
You have both integration plugins installed as well?
Trent
In reply to: login form on wordpress sidebarI see you resolved this. Just for others, I found the login code for WordPress and put that in the sidebar as it doesn’t matter if you login at bbPress or WordPress when you are integrated.
Trent
In reply to: Hyperlinks are showing as plain textIt would be because it is not passing the text through one of the template filters….hmm…let me think about this one.
Trent
In reply to: Hooks & Filters DocuI would like that as well Null! I changed the title to be more clear! Hope you don’t mind!
Trent
In reply to: Instructions: Installing bbPress on DreamhostExcellent Sam! I changed your title so that it is more clear on what you have come across! I hope you don’t mind!
Trent
In reply to: bbpress / wordpress avatar? If you use services like MyBlogLog or Gravatar, you can use that plugin for bbPress and WordPress has a couple of plugins that also bring in those avatars into your comments. Good question fel64! How did you do it?
Trent
In reply to: Latest Topics for NonWP SiteIt should work just having the main RSS feed like this sites:
https://bbpress.org/forums/feed/
Mine would be:
Thanks,
Trent
In reply to: bbPress themes / templates directory, does it exist?I know that Brad and I are trying to put the links to plugins, themes and hacks together over at Pro Forums. Just search the ‘templates’ link and that has a good portion of them.

In reply to: Custom profile data and avatarFor adding custom profile additions, I use Macwise’s Custom Profile Plugin. You have to edit the actual plugin code to get your profile additions you want, but the ‘extra’ ones in it are ‘number of kids’ and you will figure out how to add more and change that one. As well, if they are marked as ‘1’ they are required and ‘0’ means not required.
As for avatars, you can have your users add their own URL to their avatar using Ardentfrost’s Avatar Plugin but it doesn’t have an interface yet for uploading avatars, just putting in the URL. If most of your users use Gravatar or MyBlogLog, you can try the other Avatar Plugin as it just uses the avatar from those services. There is a new plugin that allows uploading of avatars as well available here
That should get you going!
