Shane, could you please add some configuration info to the ticket linked above, site_url and home_url so we can try to determine what is happening.

One possibility and seems most likely is your URL’s are using ‘www’ and therefore the to/from email address is getting generated as noreply@www.example.com rather than a typical DNS setup would not have the www included in the mail server config.

I am not sure where to look at this as Wishlist Member is a commercial plugin.

I just pinged them on Twitter asking them to take a look, lets see what they have to say.

Both bbPress.org and BuddyPress.org were #663399becca purple for a day.

    The Color Purple

    THE COLOR PURPLE

WHEN my daughter was little, she used to ask me my favorite color. I was a grownup, and could only supply a grownup’s answer: “I love the way light looks in late afternoon,” I might say. Or, “Red and black can make powerful statements in graphic design.” Grownups don’t have favorite colors. But children do.

Rebecca Meyer had a favorite color. It was purple. A color that might be expressed in the hexadecimal language of web design as #663399.

As many of you know, Eric and Kat Meyer lost their daughter Rebecca to cancer on Saturday. Rebecca Alison Meyer was a ray of light. She was six years, eleven and a half hours old when she died.

I’ve just dug around trying to replicate this and I cannot.

What happens if you create a new forum?

I am not sure what you are asking, could you try to explain it in more detailed steps.

    eg.

    1. I do this.
    2. I now do this.

Expected Results: I expected this to happen
Actual Results: This is what actually happens.

There is nothing you need to remove manually, if you go to Tools -> Forums -> Reset Forums all bbPress data will be deleted from the database.

If you are changing the user ID directly in the database and ‘do it wrong’ you are most certainly going to have permission and capability issues with the user ID.

You should create a new user, assign them the WordPress ‘Administrator’, then assign the bbPress role ‘Keymaster’. Logout of your current admin account and test your new admin account. If everything works and you have transferred any posts, pages, forums, topics, replies etc to the new user then go ahead and delete the old account once you have confirmed ‘all the things’.

Note: Your posts were being picked up as spam by Akismet for some reason that is why they didn’t show up.

Not unless your two sites are a single WordPress Multisite install.

This will be a theme issue, you can confirm this by testing with the Twenty Fourteen theme.

I’ll have to take a closer look at this as I have thought/presumed that all vBulletin v3.x installs include the ‘topic tags’ table tagthread irrespective of if they are used or not.

That said because of that error the import stopped, the good thing is that if you click ‘Start’ again it will resume from where it left of, in this case it will start importing your ~300,000 replies. (Just ensure you use the same settings for the import as your outlined above).

I’ll try to get to this on the weekend whilst I’m updating many of the other importers 🙂

You have a page titled “Elder Scrolls Online” and you are using that as the front page of your site, have a look at Settings -> Reading -> Front page displays -> A static page

Most likely you need to make a copy of your themes page.php and rename it to bbpress.php and that should stop the featured image displaying.

If that does not work I’d suggest submitting a support request to theme authors.

    Pedro,

Sorry, I havn’t used WPML, I just see this issue constantly come up for those who use WPML.

The following is on GitHub but I have no idea if it works, is up to date or works with the latest WPML.

I am pretty sure this is an issue with the BuddyPress theme you are using, I’d suggest contacting their support for details on the issue.

If they can’t help Robin is correct, you should post on http://buddypress.org

Thanks, that is a good thing, basically as your wp_posts table contains 12,878 records it looks like the importer didn’t import any replies, if it had your wp_posts table would be ~350,000.

Presuming you are doing this on a test site I would suggest you reset bbPress (Tools-> Forums-> Reset bbPress) and delete the imported users along with all the previous imported forums, topics and replies and run the import again.

@pwdesign, see this post, basically for some reason bbPress is being disabled after updating under certain conditions (not exactly sure what these are yet).

I think this plugin is supposed to do that, I haven’t tried it personally 😉

If I login via http://localhost/wp-login.php I get logged in and returned to the home/front page http://localhost/

If I login via http://localhost/wp-admin the url becomes http://localhost/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

If I login via a separate WordPress installed in /pref as a sub directory of the localhost install via http://localhost/pref/wp-admin the login URL becomes http://localhost/pref/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2Fpref%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

Note how the sub folder on my install is also /pref and is also part of the new redirect URL, for whatever reason, most likely a .htaccess issue or some other oddity in your config is is changing the redirect to /wp39.

With multiple WordPress installs this quite easily happens and you need to make sure you are loading the correct WordPress install you are actually intending to load 😉

Are you using WordPress 3.9.1 and bbPress 2.5.4?

I’m going to need some detailed steps to reproduce the issue as I cannot.

Are you logging in through the bbPress login widget?

Are you logging in via http://example.com/wp-login.php and then redirected to your front page?

What happens if you open http://example.com/wp-admin and login via that URL?
(After hitting the above URL you should now have a URL similar to:
    http://example.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1)

It is most likely a conflict with another plugin, presumably the admin bar plugin.

    @netweb

Yes, this is normal and the default for bbPress 2.5.4, when you click ‘reply’ it links to the #new-post form at the bottom of the topic.

Everything is stored in the wp_posts table including WordPress posts, pages, bbPress forums, topics and replies so a rough guess here is that the 12,000 topics have been imported but not the replies.

If your comfortable using phpMyAdmin can you run this query for me on your vBulletin 3 database:

    SELECT
    post.postid AS postid,
    thread.forumid AS forumid,
    post.threadid AS threadid,
    post.ipaddress AS ipaddress,
    post.userid AS userid,
    post.pagetext AS pagetext,
    post.dateline AS dateline
    FROM post AS post
INNER JOIN thread AS thread USING (threadid)
    WHERE post.parentid != 0

That should return the first 30 rows of your 346,000 replies, does it? Or do you get an error?

    @netweb

If the users imported already exist then the user will be imported again with the imported_ prefix. If your uses are already in the WordPress wp_users table then you shouldn’t need to import them which would be the case for SimplePress.
