jjj said he tried to find your post but couldn’t dig it up, so maybe it didn’t go through. You’ll have to repost it 🙁
In reply to: I'm finished (I think?)You should post it or create a gist of it 🙂
I’m working on creating some 2.1 themes to release (for free, naturally) and my goal is to have one that has a structure very similar to what you did on your forum – which looks great!
In reply to: I'm finished (I think?)You should post the tweaks you made to get the slick the category/sub-forum setup. That’s a common request around here, plus I’m just curious which way you went about it 🙂
I started working on a theme where I was doing that and it ended up being a PITA.
In reply to: bbPress.org Updated to 2.1The plugin page will get archived, it’s on the list.
In reply to: Theme Compatibility (2)Whenever you did to get it to play nicely, you probably did it wrong.
We need more information. What fixes did you have in place? What exactly is “nothing works”? We can’t help without solid info.
In reply to: bbPress.org Updated to 2.1Is it the markdown plugin that’s making huge spacing in these posts or is that just something from the conversion?
In reply to: bbPress.org Updated to 2.1It’s kinda funny that I actually prefer markdown over TinyMCE. Think that is a habit I got from github 😛
In reply to: Restrict Forums to Specific GroupsI’m with @annointed.
I saw that plugin and it looks good. I’d take a look at it first and see how easy it would be to adapt from.
In reply to: bbPress 2.0.3 and WordPress 3.4Any by RC2 he means RC4
In reply to: First time using bbPress since it became a plugin…No, not easily. You would have to create a custom theme.
This forum is built on an old version of bbPress. It’s actually going to be upgraded very soon and will look similar to what you see in 2.1 RC4.
In reply to: How install bbpressWordPress.com does not offer bbPress.
To use bbPress you need to be running WordPress stand alone install (from WordPress.org).
In reply to: First time using bbPress since it became a plugin…Give 2.1 RC4 a try. It does a pretty good job of just working out of the box.
In reply to: bbPress 2.1 RC 2 / Theme Compat QuestionsThat’s fairly accurate.
You don’t have to create a child theme or any of that unless you want to customize the default bbPress theme (bbp-theme-compat). In that case just copy the files you want to customize into your WordPress theme directory and bbPress will use those instead.
You have both BuddyPress and bbPress installed/activated correct?
What version of BuddyPress/bbPress?
In reply to: Default Template not working for forum pageFYI about Genesis theme compatibility.
When you do decide to upgrade to bbPress 2.1 you will need to use a plugin.
Genesis compatibility was removed from bbPress 2.1 and is now wrapped in a plugin (below). The plugin also provides some other fixes the 2.0.x compatibility doesn’t.

In reply to: login form's remember me checkboxI would definitely go with Lynq’s approach. Simple and it should get the job done
In reply to: bbPress 2.0.3 and WordPress 3.4If 3.4 + bbPress is causing you get an error saying “bytes exhausted” I recommend either installing this plugin
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/memory-bump/
or bumping the memory manually through the wp-config.php

In reply to: Remove toast/noticebbPress is free and we are all volunteers doing this in our spare time.
We always try to help people when possible, however we don’t always have time to walk people through creating custom solutions for their every needs, it’s just not practical unfortunately.
The best thing is to encourage users to do the research on their own and then contribute back to bbPress. If that’s out of their confort zone them sometimes the only other solution is for them to hire a developer or use a different, paid, forum software suite.
In reply to: Unable to find forumRob is right.
First go to Settings > Permalinks to make sure those are triggered, then try again
In reply to: List of Forums empty when I have 5 forumsFirst let’s rule out your theme as the culprit.
If you activate TwentyTen (or TwentyEleven) and then go to that URL, is it still not showing anything?
In reply to: I have just installed but lost from hereHmm, I wonder if it has to do with Thesis hijacking the archive page (I’m not familiar with Thesis).
Is there anyway you can temporarily change the theme to TwentyTen/Eleven and see if the problem is still occurring? That will let you at least rule out the theme being the cause.
In reply to: [REQ] Way to integrate WP-PollsThis has been a popular request, however so far I don’t think anyones attempted it.
Hopefully someone will soon
In reply to: WordPress v3.4 not compatible with bbPress? If anyone has any other 3.4 issues feel free to post in https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-203-and-wordpress-34
In reply to: Installation problemIs there a specific reason you went with the stand alone install and not the plugin?
In reply to: 2.1 release dateJust a note, should be fixed now https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1849
