In reply to: Suddenly getting error when posting videos
Solved as promised. Hostgator are good! (And quick!)
Solved. Was a mod_sec change on the host server (Hostgator) who have sorted it out for me.
In reply to: Suddenly getting error when posting videosyep they said it’s mod_sec. I’ll report back when I’ve retested it.
In reply to: Suddenly getting error when posting videosI’m with Hostgator..? I’ll email them. Thanks for the tip.
In reply to: Suddenly getting error when posting videosI have just posted about this. Exactly the same thing. Sudden error, no change, users getting 404s when posting links. I also use that plugin but I hear this is happening when posting all links. I can’t really check it right now as I’m away from home.
Please let me know if you have any ideas, this is really really bad news.

Whoops, spoke too soon. Nobody can post any links. This is really bad! Has anyone come across this before?
In reply to: wpmu integration old users cant postyou may need to change all usernames to lowercase so that both mu and bbpress accept them. i remember doing that when i upgraded.
a-ha.
When the WordPress ‘bbPress Integration’ plugin is upgraded it wipes all the options from the plugin.
Will resolve and leave open in case anyone else gets this problem.
In reply to: BBpress, buddypress integration issuesi upgraded bbpress and converted wordpress to MU, then added buddypress on top. i didn’t run into any major issues, but then again, i made sure to back up before i made any major changes to the database, so a few disasters were avoided that way
In reply to: Another bbPress WordPress question“the latest forum posts on the right hand side are visable on your wordpress pages. Was this achieved by calling bbpress header after wp header?”
no, it’s a plugin called bbpress latest discussions.
i dislike unhelpful meanies who hang around on techy forums, and i don’t mean to be one of them, but you honestly need to search the forum (and google) because the answers are out there! if you don’t do the research you’re going to waste time on things that have been done for you already.
just migrating my wordpress+bbpress install to MU+buddypress+bbpress took me around 30 hours. that’s not including the initial setup of wordpress+bbpress, or the re-theming of template files to acommodate the upgrade. most of that 30 hours was spent searching google for plugins and hacks and reading around.
thanks for the compliments on my site. believe me, i am not a coder, i am just persistent!
In reply to: Another bbPress WordPress questionthere are a LOT of threads about this on the forum already. so much so that it’s becoming hard to find threads about anything else
search the site (i recommend the ‘search google’ option) for ‘integration’ or ‘wordpress’.
what you want is possible but not without a considerable amount of time and some intricate theme modification.
you can see my wordpress(MU) + bbpress + buddypress install here:
the forum is actually entirely separate, apart from the wp_users table. what you are seeing is a shared header graphic and cloned stylesheet. that is probably what you need to do.
In reply to: Help Integrate WordPressMU, Buddypress, and bbpressthanks everyone – this suggestion of mis-matching ‘www’s gave me the clue i needed to get my cookies working.
In reply to: WPMU 2.8.4a deep integration breaks RSS feeda-ha, here’s the solution.
In reply to: WPMU 2.8.4a deep integration breaks RSS feedi’ve used the fix above and my RSS feed is still broken. i’m using wpmu integrated with buddypress.
In reply to: only one forum – please helpit took me a while to achieve this but it wasn’t too tough. see here:
http://www.copsandrobbers.net/messageboard/
i stripped most of the content out of front-page.php and put in an immediate redirect to forum.php
try it – it works fine for me, no complaints from users either.
In reply to: cannot unstick topicit was resolved by logging out and logging in to bbpress (not wordpress).

In reply to: Private Messenger Pluginthe private messenger plugin has been replaced by BBPM.
In reply to: Admin Functions not workingaha, fixed by logging out and back in via bbpress login form (NOT wordpress..)
In reply to: Admin Functions not workingi have exactly the same problem. i cannot change the theme because my Admin link doesn’t work (reloads the page)
In reply to: Show off your Forum !!wp-integrated, and not many plugins at all besides the ones you can see:
In reply to: Import bbpress users into buddypress?brilliant, thanks! this is exactly what i needed.
all my users currently have ‘contributor’ status in WP (the blog that would become ‘1’) – do you know if they would retain this permission if i upgraded to MU?
i am hoping that everything would work the same way, and i’d just be adding the additional benefits that MU brings rather than changing existing permissions.
In reply to: List all Tags?thanks tom – it did indeed. nice to have that little issue fixed!
In reply to: Import bbpress users into buddypress?+1 for this question. I would also like to know..
In reply to: can't merge tags – 'something odd happened' ?i’ve just noticed that this is returning a 404.
http://www.copsandrobbers.net/messageboard/tags/
could the two problems be related? i’m sure that page used to work OK, so perhaps a plugin is to blame..
In reply to: can't merge tags – 'something odd happened' ?yes, it is when you have a massively complicated array of wordpress plugins to integrate, and 2000 users. last time i installed and integrated it took 9 hours out of my weekend. i would rather avoid this until i have 9 hours to spare.
