In reply to: can admin execute php code in post?
I guess I never tried to include PHP in a bbPress reply, but maybe I was mislead by the “anything” in the plugin name. Maybe PHP is not added soon enough to actually be executed by the web server.
What are you trying to do exactly?
In reply to: Tag for fetching forum name from a topic?forum_name()
will echo the result andget_forum_name
will not (so you can use it however you want, or just echo it.) I think all theget_
functions just get return value, not echo it.Please restrict each topic to one issue. It’s too hard to find the information pertaining to other issues based on the original topic title.
Thanks.
In reply to: can admin execute php code in post? There was an old plugin from _ck_ “Admin can post anything”:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/admin-can-post-anything/
You can try it will bbPages and see if it works. I’ve never used that plugin. I do use the “Admin can post anything” plugin.
In reply to: Cannot get past Step 1 of install1. The warnings are from using PHP 5.3 on Windows (normally.) If you can use PHP 5.2 that would be better. If not, you can download the latest trunk version instead of 1.0.2 as the warnings will not occur with that version.
2. If bb_ tables are present in the database you are using when you go to reinstall, the installer will complain that bbPress is already installed. So, drop the bb_ tables or use a different database.
3. Where is your forum actually installed?
http://www.happybod.com/happybod_web/forum/
or
http://www.happybod.com/forum/
I am guessing it’s the 2nd location since the first looks like it contains the file system path from your host. Your WordPress files are probably installed in the happybod_web folder and accessible at http://www.happybod.com/ (right?) If so, and you placed a “forum” directory inside happybod_web, at the same level as wp-config.php, then your forum will be located at http://www.happybod.com/forum/
In reply to: bbPress activity metricsPlease switch the search over. We mentioned that here soon after WordPress switched.
In reply to: admin.php could not find ../bb-load.PHPIf you’re not too far into it, it makes sense to just download the software again. Just delete all the files and then unzip and upload them all.
In reply to: User searching in admin is not workingWhat happens when you search, and what sort of sample name are you searching for?
In reply to: admin.php could not find ../bb-load.PHPSo, does the file bb-load.php actually exist on the server? Maybe you just have a bad copy or are missing a file from a bad file transfer.
In reply to: bbPress 1.1 – Maybe Soon!So what? I put that milestone in there after plucking it from thin air. It is what it is. At the time, it seemed reasonable with the amount of tickets we had open. Then we added more tickets. And we fixed them. I think any ticket created after 1257 was after I changed the milestone to April 30.
As the trac says:
“Due date is only to force the order of milestones and does not reflect any actual release schedule.”
That is post id 6645. It’s probably closer to four years old at this point. That was also way before I knew what the heck I was doing.
That post was three years ago, so I’m not sure to what I was actually referring.
I don’t use Akismet any more, so I’m not sure how it works with bozo. I know you can manually make someone a bozo, but never really got into how someone becomes a bozo or spammer automatically.
I am not sure what plugins are running here, but Akismet is for sure. When a post gets caught as spam, I can release it without having anything to do with bozo status, as far as I know. Maybe it’s automatic, or maybe the bozo plugin is not active here. But if a single post is caught as spam, I can just “unspam” it and it becomes visible again. I’ve never done anything with member status at all.
Hopefully someone with more experience moderating using both Akismet and bozo will come along.
I don’t think bozo and Akismet are hooked up at all.
The bozo feature was never particularly well implemented. I was trying to find a post by sambauers where he said as much.
I wrote this 3 years ago:

Regarding a plugin, I’m not sure. Maybe someone else will post about it.
Did you create all your forums as categories? If so, you can’t post in a category.
In reply to: Strange new bug has occured, need immediate help. Can you just delete that topic?
In reply to: Strange new bug has occured, need immediate help.Take a look at the source of that page, around line 111. For some reason there is an additional DOCTYPE and a whole other document being loaded in there. Not sure where that’s coming from, if it’s the user’s profile or from a plugin. But that is what’s causing the layout problem.
It’s interesting that other posts by that user look OK, so it’s probably not a profile problem.
How about this:

In reply to: something usefulJust rescued this post from Akismet
Just rescued this post from Akismet.
Turn off permalinks for now. My guess is that they’re not configured correctly. If you turn them off for now (in the admin) you should be able to use the forum.
In reply to: db error and keymaster errorDid you integrate with WordPress and use an existing WordPress user as your keymaster in bbPress?
Looks like you have WordPress installed as well. Will WordPress mail out information?
If you would like to work around the problem, you can display the password to the user rather than email it, with a plugin:

When editing a reply, the “Notify me of followup posts via e-mail” text appears twice (once below the “Allowed markup” and once above.)
Also, followup is probably a lot like the work “alot“. Should be “follow up” I think. The whole sentence might need to be reworded. They’re not posts, they’re replies, right?
