Hi,
Can you try the steps I just posted in https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/installed-bbpress-cant-find-forum-on-wordpress-site/ ?
Pascal. In reply to: Admin user approvalHi,
You seem to be mixing ‘buddypress’ and ‘bbpress’. This forum is for bbPress questions.
I have the feeling your question is more related to BuddyPress, so maybe try on https://buddypress.org/support ?
Pascal. In reply to: Installed bbPress can’t find forum on WordPress siteIf you have already deactived all plugins except bbPress and switched to a default theme and you still do not see ‘Forums’, ‘Topics’ and/or ‘Replies’, then please try this in Settings > Forums (check after every step if you find the options back on your dashboard):
– ‘Settings > Forums’ : (de)activate ‘Anonymous posting’, save, (de)activate it again to get back to your original setting, save
– ‘Settings > Forums’ : (de)activate ‘Auto role’, save, (de)activate it again to get back to your original setting, save
– Deactivate the bbPress plugin, then reactive the bbPress plugin
– ‘Tools > Forums > Repair Forums’ : Remap existing users to default forum roles, click ‘Repair Items’ (WARNING: Make sure to have multiple admins in case the keymaster role would disappear from one account)Pascal.
In reply to: BB press disappears from WP menuHi Simon,
Please check my response to https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-disapeared-from-wp-admin/ and let me know if that helped or not.
Pascal. In reply to: Email Notifications not being sentHi,
If you confirm that WordPress is correctly sending out emails for other WordPress tasks, then it’s most probably one of the other plugins blocking something. Did you try to deactivate plugins like bbPress – Private Replies, bbPress – Report Content and bbPress Protected Forums ?
Pascal.Did you try to switch of the main one ? https://codex.bbpress.org/layout-and-functionality-examples-you-can-use/#4-turning-off-or-changing-breadcrumbs

In reply to: Problem importing forum to bbPressHi, did you try to import in bbPress 2.6 ? It’s already pretty stable and if you start from scratch anyway, it might be a good idea as it has much better import capabilities.
You can find the 2.6 on https://bbpress.org/download/
Pascal. In reply to: people can not registrerGood afternoon,
This is more WordPress related I think, because bbPress is using the WordPress environment for authentication. Just check that on your /wp-admin page, under ‘Settings -> General -> Membership’ you have the ‘Anyone can register’ correctly checked.
Pascal. In reply to: Email notificationHi, email sending issues are almost never an issue of bbPress, so I doubt there is anything to fix on the bbPress side.
First things to note:
- Spam filters tend to put emails into spam if your site is e.g. ‘www.example.com’ but you have defined your admin email (Settings > General) as ‘admin@gmail.com’
- By default, you do NOT receive emails for your own topics/replies, only if somebody else replies on your subscribed topics
Make sure you are subscribed:
- To receive the email for new topics, make sure you are subscribed to the forum
- To receive the email for new replies, make sure your are subscribed to the topic
- Use tools like bbP Manage Subscriptions to check and fix individuals or run Topic Subscribe to fix in one go.
Check that WordPress emails are working:
- Make sure to check your spam/junk email
- Do you correctly receive emails when new posts are published or any other emails from the site ? If not, try any plugin to check emails (https://wordpress.org/plugins/check-email/)
bbPress v2.5.x email sending:
In its current version, bbPress is sending out 1 message for every user subscribe to a forum or topic. This could be seen as spamming
If all the above is fine, then it might be another plugin or a theme issue:
- Deactivate all plugins except bbPress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.
- If deactivating the plugins did not solve, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.

In reply to: BBpress disapeared from WP-AdminHi,
First check is always to see if another keymaster can still see the bbPress parts. If so, ask him/her to demote and promote you again as keymaster. If you are the only keymaster, create a new account, make keymaster and try the operation from there. If that didn’t help then try these actions:
If you have already deactived all plugins except bbPress and switched to a default theme and you still do not see ‘Forums’, ‘Topics’ and/or ‘Replies’, then please try this in Settings > Forums (check after every step if you find the options back on your dashboard):
Hi @ikkius099,
An admin can ban if he suspects something strange is going on, but having a different IP should not have any influence on that!
Pascal.Hi @alingrad,
Would you mind giving me an update? How did it work out?
Thanks, Pascal. In reply to: DISable trackbacks and pingbacks [on this page]Hi Eric,
This issue is already reported in https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2677. A first patch is available so people are working on it to get it fixed in one of the next versions.
Pascal. In reply to: Providing a link to loginHi Eric,
Best pratice is never to edit existing files 🙂 It gets overwritten with the next release.
Have a look if you find something in my response here: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/setup-login-for-private-forum/
Pascal. In reply to: How to stop Topic Creation for GroupsIf you have only bbPress, you could use my bbP Toolkit plugin to ‘protect’ forums so only e.g. admins can create topics.
If you have BuddyPress groups, you better ask on buddypress.org/support if someone can help. If they indicate a possibility there, please post it back here for others.
Thanks,
Pascal. In reply to: Anonymous Posting: Error postingHave you disabled or uninstalled JetPack? If only disabled, then please really uninstall it if you don’t plan to use it in the near future.
But I don’t have any other ideas 🙁
In reply to: How to download BBPress.org Theme? If you want to get to the source of it, you can find the theme used here on https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/browser/sites/trunk/buddypress.org/public_html/wp-content/themes/bb-base

In reply to: “Image upload button” need on my topic form. For uploading files, the 3 products I know of are ‘GD bbpress Attachments’, ‘Image Upload for BBPress’ and ‘bbPress Multi Image Uploader’. Have a look if it would fit your needs.
If you use BuddyPress as well, then there is also ‘BuddyPress Forum Editor’.
Pascal.
In reply to: Profile editing impossible after upgrade@rmens and @rulph12 : There is NO bbPress 2.6.1.1, so you are probably referring to BuddyPress and not bbPress ? If so, please try the BuddyPress support forum.

In reply to: Reply threading width eating in to post widthHi,
You seem to have a margin-left of 130px that is changing your display. Did you add the somewhere?
Please also inspect the loading of your site with e.g. Chrome or Firefox because it gives a lot of errors about a jpg not found and some js or css.Pascal.
In reply to: Reply threading width eating in to post widthHi,
You are probably having a theme that is somewhere conflicting with the standard CSS. Could explain a bit more the what layout you would want to have, because I’m not 100% sure I understand what you want.Pascal.
In reply to: reply column suddenly disappearGreat 🙂
In reply to: bbpress forum not sending to the particular forumThere must be somewhere a mismatch.
Please check your Settings > Forums > Forum root slug in your /wp-admin. Play with the options there to see.
Pascal.
In reply to: BBPress slowness saveHi, just given my thoughts: Is your original forum (the first one) also running on a local machine or on shared hosting? I had a bbpress site that locally was running very slow. The moment I moved it to a provider, it was running great…
My checklist:
Please note that WordPress requirements/recommendations are on https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/Some things to check:
– Have you run all the repair tools of bbpress after import to be sure your structure is optimized ?
– Have you deactivated any not-needed plugin ? Is your theme ready for bbPress ?
– Did you try to run performance tools like the P3 plugin performance profiler to narrow down the possible slow parts ?
– Did gtmetrix.com indicate something ? Or what did you see using the Pingdom Tools ?
– Is it for all people in the world the same ? Check with Sucuri performance.Plugins:
– Are you using any cache mechanism to improve speed where possible ?
– Plugins like W3 Total Cache, Batcache, WP Super Cache or other ?
– Did you check for CloudFlare or the autoptimize plugin ?Some further reading: https://codex.bbpress.org/getting-started/improving-performance/
If it would come to database queries, then check these plugins:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/query-monitor/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/query-monitor-bbpress-buddypress-conditionals/Also note that in the upcoming bbPress v2.6, a lot of focus went on possible performance issues.
Hope it helps,
Pascal.In reply to: common forumHi,
As you talk about ‘groups’, I suppose you use BuddyPress? If so, you better ask in the buddypress.org/support forum.
If with ‘groups’ you mean forums and you do not have BuddyPress, then you could use tools like ‘bbp private groups’ to give rights to users.Hope this helps,
Pascal.
