Hi there,
I have a large vBulletin forum (15,000 members / 20,000 topics / 3.5m posts) and I’m hoping to move it to bbPress.
As you might expect, the conversion is proving to be a lengthy process, and I’m hoping to keep disruption and downtime for users to a minimum.
Would the following work?
Close vBulletin forum
Export database
Re-open vBulletin but close registration
Convert to bbPress local installation (which’ll take a few days)
Once conversion’s taken place, quickly export only the new vBulletin topics and posts from the last few days, then import them to bbPress
I suppose my question is whether this is something the bbPress importer will be able to make sense of: if I try to import a database that only consists of new topics and replies, plus replies to topics it’s already imported, will everything work as hoped, and will those posts be mapped to the correct users?
Thanks in advance!

So I just installed bbPress (2.5.4) successfully after having buggy versions last week. Though I’m having a lot of issues this time. I’m using WordPress 4.1.1 and Twenty Fifteen as my theme.
I created a new forum which I called, “forum” and a topic called, “general”. When I go to view the forum, it takes me to /forums/forum/forum which I believe should be /forums/forum but I can’t go there without it redirecting me. /forums just redirects me as well.
Following the codex, I tried method two which involved using the shortcode. This works all fine until I clicked on the forum, which took me to /forums/forum/forum
My site is:
– method 1
– method 2
How can I fix this issue? Please don’t say disable plugins because I know for a fact, that isn’t the reason.

I am adding a member forum section to a church website. It is just for congregation members to communicate with each other once logged in. The group wants only one main forum in which all topics will be listed/added. I have added the (bbPress) Forums List to the sidebar widget area, but it does not show up. When I log in, I see “member login” with my user name and below that “recent topics” with all topics listed in the right sidebar. The “forum List” does not appear at all, making it very confusing to navigate the topic threads. I don’t know css and am totally lost here, so please be kind and very specific with your help. 🙂
My WordPress version is 4.1.1 and we are using the “Risen” Theme.
bbPress version is 2.5.4, I am also using bbl style pack and bbPress WP Tweaks 1.3.1

When I click on my individual forums, it is returning an empty forum.. Why is this happening?
I have switched to an https:// but other than that, I haven’t done much.
Here’s a link shootingtime.com forum
It says “Oh bother! No topics were found here!” …..

I am using the standard forum index template for the front page of my forum.
This template only shows the latest post day / time for each of the group of sub forums. What I want is to show the latest post post day / time for each of the sub-forums not just against the top level one. (see screenshot
)
How do I do this?
WordPress v4.4.1, bbPress 2.5.4

I’ve got a custom theme I made, it might not be coded properly since bbpress seems to work fine on twentyfifteen.
Anyway, I use a custom page with the shortcode
inside and the page as a custom model. When I go to my page the forum shows, but when I try for instance to go inside a topic, it doesn’t work and instead of taking me where it should, the shortcode is shown.
As I said I made my own theme and it’s kinda hardcoded, if someone could help me making the modifications I have to make in order to make the forum work, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

This is our BBPress Forum
http://www.geekgirlpenpals.com/forums/
I wonder if instead of just text of the Forum name and “Freshness” we can also have it show what the last topic was, when it was posted, and who commented on it? I thought that was the default but it seems to have changed.
