WP 6.1.1 installed bbpress and bbp-styles to test it out as a wpforo alternative.

Apologies if this is a daft question….

I am wondering whether they are conflicting…?

• when signed in as administrator, I can do New topic from the menu, and have all the usual HTML formatting options, so can use headers, links, etc. at the push of a button
• when signed in as an editor, I get only the vanilla options I see here, having to enter HTML tags.

So I’m wondering whether the first option is actually ‘borrowed’ from wpforo and not actually available in bbpress? or is there some way to enable such a thing?

I’m looking for a forum discussion plug-in for my multisite, which is now at WP 6.1.1. I’ve been trying wpforo but I’m having issues with it so hoping this might be an alternative….

I get a warning saying bbpress hasn’t been tested with 6.1.1, so I’ve not yet tried to instal it. Wondering whether anyone here can offer any advice on that? Is it in testing, will it be soon, or should I not worry?

I’m being cautious, particularly as wpforo doesn’t seem to want to network deactivate, among other things….

I need to restrict forums and topics so that when a general participant creates a topic or leaves a comment, an admin must approve it – before it is shown. Is this possible?

We have been using imgbb for sahring pictures on our forum for a while but imgbb has been goind down too frequently and is not reliable anymore for us so we want to use our massive storage that we have for our website and store locally the pictures that our forum members want to share.

My question is that, there arent attachments so we dont want the GD attachment plugin that we have seen a lot of times and we dont like.
Then we dound the inline image wordpress plugin but it is quiet expensive so we are wondering if there is any script or something that allow us to add that function so users can store locally the images that they want to share in our forum.

Any guesses?

My account has both WordPress administrator privileges and Moderator as Forum Role, but I’m unable to see any of the back-end forum menus, and if I try directly to edit a forum I get an error: “You need a higher level of permission.”
Is there something else that needs to be set, or is this a bug?
