Hi,
I’m sorry if this has been asked 1000x times before. I did find many topics about this problem, and tried many of the listed solutions, but nothing seems to work for me.
I’m runnning the following website : nanomamnews.com on wordpress 4.3 with bbpress 2.5.8 which i believe is the most recent versions available.
Only the keymaster role can see the public forums. Any other role can’t see anything and falls on a 404 page.
I run a custom theme. I tried the repair and reset tools. I tried messing around with the user capabilities, both in wordpress and using various plugins.
Please help me fix this bug, or make a link that points to the solution very clearly, because it seems to be a very recurrent pain with bbpress.
I’m looking to have a set of capabilities and roles that works. I can fine tune the permissions later on, but i think it’s crazy that only keymaster has access to the forums.

Hello,
I wish I could make my bbpress invisible for non-members, so I tried to change my visibility setting to “private”, it didn’t change anything…
Then, I tried various plugins like Member Access or Members, and my forum is still public => http://prepahec-gaylussac.esy.es/forum
I guess my forum matters but i dunno what accurately: i checked the transients and every setting…
Any idea please ?
Thank’s,
Nicolas.

Hi, I was searching for a plugin or method to add a thread prefix option to a forum.
I know there is a support plugin that does this, but is there a plugin that allows the administrator to add prefix titles to forums?
For example:
I have a community forum that I want prefixes for introductions, help, questions etc etc
Thanks for the help!

There’s no link to the forums setup after update.
Kleo theme support :
“1 – Do not enable group forms for buddypress. As it states, use bbpress. So, dont change anything there. Leave it the way it is.
2 – In every case I’ve seen, a plugin conflict causes a menu item to disappear. Disable all of your plugins except k-elements, visual composer, buddypress and bbpress. The forum menu item should return. If it does start enabling your plugins one by one until you find the conflicting plugin.”
Your caching plugin is still enabled though. Clear your cache and disable it. If forums doesnt come back, then temporarily enable the 2015 Theme. If its still doesnt show up, then its not Kleo and you’ll have to ask over on the bbpress forum.
Active Plugins:
bbPress, BuddyPress, K Elements, WPBakery Visual Composer.

Hi,
I’ve tried to use the forum converter and it does import the board, but it isn’t importing users. Is there something special I need to to to get the user account migrated over?
It’s giving me this error
WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'users.msn' in 'field list']
Thanks for the help.

Hi
Please help, the bbpress search widgets bring up everything but my forum topics and replies, it also seems to replicate the results many times over, some 76 pages worth of repeated results.
I have search sor a solution to no end, and have narrowed it down to be a problem with my theme, as it works perfectly on a default wp theme, my theme developer isn’t responding to any request for support unfortunately, is there anyone here who could help me figure this out.
Please.

Hi guys, dont know how you might feel about this…
But I was wondering if anyone knows of a content generator / scraper (RSS) that could be used, just while things are getting off the ground.
My forum will be focused towards health issues, so not exactly generic contect.
Dont shoot me if this is a no no! 😆

Hi there, when editing a post, I choose the “log this edit” checkbox. After editing, I get something like the following listed beneath the topic text:
This topic was modified 1 month, 3 weeks ago by lxxx@gmail.com.
This topic was modified 29 seconds ago by lxxx@gmail.com.
However, the “freshness” is still listed as the first (older) time and therefore the sort order in the recent topics shortcode page doesn’t change — so a recently edited post doesn’t float to the top of the list. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks!

Hello,
I am trying to get a sidebar to show in BBpress and it won’t appear. The forum main page is located here:
http://aespeakers.com/forums/
Under the “forums” page editor I have tried selecting both “default” and “right sidebar” as templates. I have Custom Sidebars installed which works fine now for other pages and the online store. The issue here is that I cannot get ANY sidebar to show in bbpress even if custom sidebars is disabled.
Page layout is set to have Right Sidebar. In the sidebars section I can select from Main Sidebar or bbPress Sidebar but neither will show in this case. The sidebar also does not show in the archive, individual forums, or topics within the forums.
I am using WP 4.3 running the SmartMag Theme. It seems this should work as it is shown working here.

Hello,
I am new to bbPress. I have installed bbPress using the Fount theme. When I visit the forum page (http://conceivable.ca/forums/) – the forum will not load using Safari. The website seems to be appearing using Firefox and Chrome. Is the problem the Fount theme?
Thank you.
