Hello,
I am very new to bbPress. I have a few basic questions:
1. To simplify my question, suppose I create page A, B, C, D. For each separate page, I create forum A, B, C, D. When creating the forums, bbPress creates a page for each forum, let’s call them page FA, FB, FC, and FD. My goal is to add a shortcode for forum A to page A such that whenever a user submit a question, it will stay on page A instead of getting forwarded to page FA. The same goes for page B, C, and D. Is it possible to do this? I create these pages and forums, but everytime I submit a question or subscribe to the forum, the site brings me to page FA instead of letting me stay on page A.
2. Is it possible to change the front end of the text editor? here we have “b i link b-quote del img ul ol li code close tags”. For general user, they will be more familiar with more common buttons like Bold, Italic, Underline, a button to attach image, a button to add symbols, etc.
wordpress version: 4.5.3
bbPress version: 2.5.10
Thank you so much for your help!
I am run a very successful bbPress forum where I allow anonymous posting. I have never seen this error before so I am a bit confused. About a week ago a person who had already made a new topic returned to post a reply and was given this error message:
“Error message: your post cannot be posted right now.”
I believe the original problem may have occurred when I had a what appeared to be a problem with Jetpack. I disabled Jetpack around midnight several weeks ago because a hiccup made all the forum content disappear. I was suspicious of Jetpack because I had just done an upgrade (and I have had other problems with it on other things). So I disabled it. I cleared my cookies, shut down the browser and then went back. The forum content had returned. I enabled Jetpack. The forum content remained fine. I noted two visitors were on the site, probably this person was one of them.
Then the next day I get an email from this anonymous user that she could no longer post a reply. I thought it was Jetpack so I disabled it again. That did not help because she complained again.
I then ran all the forum tools, one at a time. I asked her to clear her cookies and cache and then retry again, but with a DIFFERENT browser. Same error message on IE. I then asked her to try on a different computer. I don’t think she did that.
I went into the forum with myself logged out and was able to make an anonymous reply with her name and email address. So I figured her IP address was the issue, perhaps her business was blocking her from posting? I also checked my Wordfence to see if she had generated any problems in all of her visits to the website with her IP, no issues, all visits were normal.
I am now getting a report of a different person having the same issues (maybe the other visitor when I disabled Jetpack?) I have never turned Jetpack back on and I have run the forum tools. Wordfence is not showing any errors on the IP address.
I have really troubleshooted to the point of my knowledge. This user is particularly upset because they interviewed Matt Mullenweg at one point in their career and expressed alarm that WP would allow this to happen. Oh well, I can’t please everyone…
I would appreciate any help with ideas about how to troubleshoot this better. This user is still unable to post several weeks later and has to email us her messages to post.
Thank You, Matoca
Hi,
I want to make all the topics visible to public but only registered users can reply on those. Just one or two specific topics where i can allow all visitors to reply without registration. I can’t find any settings like that. Is it possible in any way?
Best Regards.
After updating my plugins my first posts are blank. They can only be seen by admin.
I’m using the MembershipPro plugin. Please help

When my customers login into my WordPress site the name, email, and web site fields disappear in the post. I believe this has something to do with them being logged into the site…. Is there a way to always display those fields even if people are logged in? I have multiple customers in one office using one WordPress login and they would like to post things using their names and emails.
I have a site with forums for an RPG style game. A player could start a thread, which is later moved to a forum which is hidden and only for moderators. The issue that I have is that the person that started the thread can still see it. Is there a way (via plugin etc) in which a moved thread becomes hidden or becomes property of the mod who moved it?
Hi
Is there a way to show custom fields on backend, when creating a new topic? I don’t want to register a new custom field or nothing related to front-end, I just wanted to show custom fields (as exhibited in new-post.php) when I’m in new topic form on back-end.
I have a function that if I create e custom field named “redirect_to”, this page/post is redirected to the target. So I want to create a new topic with this custom field, to redirect this topic, when clicked, to a new page.
Thanks!
Renan
