Remove “BBpress Forum” from menu

Published on December 26th, 2016 by King-Nothing

How can I remove the text “BBpress Forum” in my menu? There is no option for it in the menu, and I haven`t found anything useful when Googleing…

Here you can see the problem: http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/1995272/6e1119241f4015e8a098446ed99bc5c7

Moving BBPress to a New WordPress Install

Published on December 25th, 2016 by cocreationcoaching

Hello,

I’m moving to a new WordPress installation.

However, unfortunately I cannot just export my database. I’m on a host that has a very customized WordPress (I’m with Rainmaker, in case you’ve heard of them). I’m moving to a self-hosted WordPress where I have complete access to the database.

I cannot install any plugins on the old host.

I tried exporting the forums, topics, and replies. But, they are left without being associated to one another.

I’m not sure if it’ll change anything if I export it all at once. There’s a lot of other content, so I wanted to try to do it on its own.

What’s the best way to export my bbpress data so I can import it to my new WordPress installation?

Thanks for your help.

How can I set Forum root to show Forum Index AND latest topics

Published on December 25th, 2016 by devpaq

In the forum settings, it gives the option “Forum root should show” with the choices of “Forum Index” or “topics By Freshness”. How can I have the root show both – the listing of forums, and below it the latest topics?
I know there is a shortcode

Viewing 25 topics - 15,576 through 15,600 (of 27,134 total)
which will show the latest topics, but I don’t know where I can put that to have it show on the forum root.
Thanks

You Forgot a Few Things

Published on December 25th, 2016 by mythusmage

Two to be precise.

#1. Registration: I take it you need to set up a page and to add a shortcode.
#2. Lost Password. Again I understand you need to set up a page and add a shortcode.

You need to tell people, instead of acting as though they automatically knew this. And in these instructions to the page on installation. In addition, make sure to include the softcodes needed.

Don’t make setting up the plugin any more frustrating than it has to be.

Several Issues

Published on December 24th, 2016 by ldesherl

I like your plugin, but I still have issues.

1). I can’t make my forum introduction sticky.

2). There are few editing options on forums. And users can’t edit from the front-end.

3). My forum has a sidebar within a sidebar. I could not change it, no matter what I tried.

My forum URL: https://alllivesaresacred.com/forum/#.WF8MqRsrK00

I’m using WordPress 4.7 and bbPress 2.5.12

Thank you!

Undefined Index … in template.php

Published on December 24th, 2016 by Bingo Bongo

Hi –

I’m getting multiple variations of the following error message –

Notice: Undefined index: link_before in ………..public_html/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/includes/forums/template.php on line 797

(Just wondered if anyone knew of a quick fix before I go disabling plugins, enabling 2016 theme etc, as it causes some ball-ache my end with widgets needing to be setup again etc.)

Thanks if you do 😉

Finaly i found perfect search plugin for Bbpress

Published on December 24th, 2016 by senatorman

The standaard BBpress searchfunction is very bad, slow, had no options to filter and it looks there is no development on this.

A good searchfunction is so very important for a succesfull forumscript.

After long searching and testing serveral search-plugin i’ve found a good working plugin.
Fast, configurable and ajax.

See the search-plugin in my live website www.opel-forum.nl
I use the free version. The pro version has more options.

This is the link to the plugin.
