Hello, I’m on WordPress 4.7.3 and BBPress Version 2.5.12. Site is still in development and not yet live.
I have a large number of forums (around 35k). Some of the forums work fine to post topics to, others are throwing a 502 error. The topics still post to the forum regardless of the error, but the page does not load upon clicking the “Submit” button. If I stop the page load almost immediately after posting a topic and re-navigate to the specific forum where I was posting the topic, or wait for the page load to throw the 502 error and then re-navigate, the topic always successfully posts regardless of the error.
I have spent hours with WP Engine support and after thorough investigation, disabling all plugins, switching the theme to a default theme, the server is still responding with a 502 and I’ve been told it’s an issue with BBPress. They told me to mention my database contains the following number of rows as it may be helpful:
Table rows | Table
465283 | wp_postmeta
34858 | wp_posts
Any help would be immensely appreciated!
Is there a way I can export all users (ie email addresses) that have posted to bbpress?
I am trying to put a list together, but I have so many users in wordpress that are not active in bbpress (either they signed up to comment on my regular wordpress comments, or they were spam registrations).
I would like to only get users that actually posted to anything in bbpress.
(I am fine with doing it via phpmyadmin if someone can direct me)
Thanks!
Hello,
I created a custom page for my bbpress forum index.
I called it “/forums” (“forums” also my forums root slug).
However, I can’t seem to customize the page in anyway with my sites page template.
If I change the page’s permalink to something else (ex: “/forums2”), I’m able to customize it.
What am I doing wrong here?
Hi, I have a question about copyright. Is the code in the support forums free to use on my commercial site? Is there a license for this code?
Also, is the code on this page free to use as well for my commercial site as I am not completely sure? Page: https://codex.bbpress.org/layout-and-functionality-examples-you-can-use/
Thanks,
David
Is there an option to have first topic of new user as draft (i.e. let them submit – but won’t be published automatically? Otherwise it gets too spammy from manual spammers.
Please let me know if anyone has solved this.
An option like this exists for comments – so I am hoping the same can be replicated in bbpress.
How do you display name beneath avatar?
The BBpress pages, like the topics pages that show the avatar & user’s name on the right hand side are inline. On devices, this goes off page (despite having a very responsive website -excluding this plugin that doesn’t appear to be much so).
This quick-fix (I guess), is to simply display the names below the avatars as its the only thing that doesn’t clear.
Many thanks,
Kristian
Hi there,
bbpress has worked on my site perfectly for over a year but now, The Forum takes you Blank pages but all the entire forum can still be seen and accessed by the right-side widgets.
What’s causing that and how do I get my forum back on the main screen?
Thank you.
Please see my site for what is happening:

Although participant users CAN create new topics by going to a particular forum, they are still greeted with the message, “You cannot create new topics,” at the bottom of the main Forums page.
Is this a new bug? I never noticed this problem before.
Instead of having the create a new topic forum automatically underneath the current topis I want to have a simple button saying “create new topic” which leads to the create a new topic page
I am looking to give my buddy press forums categories in a similar way to posts and pages. This way I can use certain forums on certain pages and not have some shown on others etc
