Hello,
I am using BBPress with the la in conjunction with Ultimate Member (everything is latest version). Our forums are supposed be completely private for non logged in users. This works for the individual forums and topics.
Unfortunately, we discovered that if you put in “Forums” after the website URL an index of all forums with topics shows up. You are not able to access them, but it is really not good for us to have this information show up at all.
How can I prevent the Forums index from appearing by typing the URL. Can this be done? I would really be grateful for some help here. Thank you.

I’ve got a question about a difference that I encounter between the replies to a topic in a “normal” forum page versus the replies to the same topic “embedded” in another page.

I’ve recreated the problem in a new website:

bbPress version 2.6.4
No other plugins are activated
Theme: Twenty twenty
Username and password: on request
To reach the “normal” page: main menu > community > click “Test forum” > click “Test topic”
To reach the “embedded” topic: main menu > Page for embedded topic

When someone replies to one of the messages in this topic (except for the first one) the replies should be nested under that message. In the “normal” forum page this works fine (for a logged in user). But when I “embed” this topic in another page, all replies are posted at the bottom of the list. And they are all posted as new replies to the topic, and not as nested replies.

Do you know how I can get nested replies in the embedded topic?

I did just set up my forum, but when I start a new Topic the counter in the Overview does not change. I did some tries with multiple test-topics and replies, but no change. Always stays at 0 :-/

I am trying to find the best way to structure my forum on my website.. actually i have created a dozen of forums (imagine it is about handphones models : 1 model = 1 forum) . And for each model i want a dedicated forum for for example ergonomy, battery autonomy etc.. how can i do that to avoid duplication of forums ?

Sorry, if this is the wrong forum ..
We are a non-profit organisation, ARTSCENICO – www.artscenico.com, and we have recently updated our website, and installed a bbPress forum. After now something like 6 or 7 plugins installed, I get a bit lost in it all, and I would need help to technically manage the site, and do some adjustments now and then, maybe improve it by having one or 2 paid plugins who do it all, instead of so many where you loose the overview. So basically I look for someone to help us develop there forum, preferably someone from EU as we are a European federation, and yes we think of paying this person. But all this would then be a question of details to clear between us.

If you – on top of it – are very good in wordpress homepages / template adaptions etc. This would be a plus, as some help might be needed there now and then too.

Hello, this is my first time positing here, so please forgive me if this is in the wrong thread.

I’m wanting to build a play by post (PBP) website for a D&D / Pathfinder game I’m currently running on a different website.

I know the typical forum has someone post as a single user, but in a Dungeons and Dragons game, the DM/GM posts as tons of NPCs and other characters.

The current website we use makes this as simple as selecting a character from a drop menu and the post looks like it’s from them, with their avatar and name.

Does anything like this exist for bbpress?

If not, can anyone guide me to documentation for how I might accomplish this.

Yes, I’m aware of the Switch Users plug-in but that would be a huge pain for how often I would need to switch and I want to make this option for players who run multiple characters as well.

I want to list all forums on a page, regardless if it’s hidden.

The user will be asked to register or login when clicking on the hidden forum.

Is this possible at all?
