Users with no role

Published on December 4th, 2008 by

Hi,

I have BBPress 1.0-alpha-2 integrated with WordPress MU 2.6.3.

Users register and login with WordPress MU and are automatically logged in to BBPress. This all works fine.

The problem I have is that the users have no “role on these forums” despite the fact that I have set the User Role Map correctly.

I can update user’s roles manually, but obviously this is not ideal.

I’m stumped!! Has anyone had a similar problem or know what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Oli

Change Post Author?

Any plug-ins out there to add a change post author capability similar to WordPress, maybe in the admin panel or the admin area of the topic.php page?

Cookies work for admins but not regular user

Published on December 4th, 2008 by dchase

I just installed WordPress and bbPress on www.youthforwildlife.org and they are sharing a user database, which works fine. And it seems that when I login as an administrator or keymaster I can go back and forth between the bbpress and wp but when I login as a regular user, it asks me to relogin when I switch between them.

I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me!

counting forums

Published on December 3rd, 2008 by clocky

can anybody a solution to count the subforums and give this counting to the forum.

– Forum ( Subforum+Subforum2 = 3 topics | 25 posts )

– Subforum ( 1 topic | 5 posts ) < + 2 ( 2 topics | 20 posts ) = 3 topics | 25 posts

– Subforum2 ( 2 topics | 20 posts )

Hide ‘child’ forums from being displayed on home page

Published on December 3rd, 2008 by chaslie

Have just installed bbPress: 0.9.0.2

Of the list of forums I have on the front page, I have 7 main forums and each of these forums have up to 50 child/sub forums. Can these child/sub forums be hidden on the front page meaning that if you visit one of the parent forums, it is only then that the child/sub forums are listed (underneath its parent forum).

Many thanks all. Look forward to a solution.

Does anyone know of a designer or company that offers identical themes for both WordPress and bbPress?

I am asking this to avoid the troubles of integration.

Thanks!

Cookie pretzel – Logging in from WP locks out BB admin

Published on December 2nd, 2008 by

WP2.6/BBpress1a

I think my cookies settings are all in a pretzel! (Or the admin roles are mis-mapped?)

I’ve had a challenging time getting these integrated, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel…

If I log in as admin from WP, I can post at bb, but can’t access the backpages, nor can i logout.

If I login from BBpress, everything works normally. I’m confused about the various settings for cookie paths, since both the blog and forum are in subfolders of the site, to allow for future expansion without having to move them again.

security

Hi, i am thinking about using bbPress to build a forum where up to 40 users could login. The login details need to be very secure and encrypted. Is this a feature?

Thanks

del Sol Owners Club Forums

Just finished some integration for a website I run. Added a few of ck’s awesome plug-ins. :tip of the hat:

Still need to smooth the bugs out of the registration/login process before I will be 100% happy. I need to use a specific registration plug-in on the WordPress side that bbPress doesn’t play nice with.
