Cutting /forum/forum/ down to /forum/

Published on August 2nd, 2009 by Christiaan

The base URL of my forum is example.com/forum/

If I then browse to a specific forum the URL is:

example.com/forum/forum/forumname

But I’d rather it was:

example.com/forum/forumname

Is there anything I can do to make it follow the later format?

WP Integration (Theme-wise) Problem

Published on August 2nd, 2009 by Stunt

Okay, so I’ve integrated bbPress with my WordPress DB and theme. I’ve customized it quite a bit but I’m still having one very annoying problem.

See that huge space on every response? Why does that happen? How do I remove it? I’ve looked in the CSS but have found nothing. Please help me out.

wordpress and bbpress intergration

Published on August 2nd, 2009 by

I am having problems with the cookies and login integration part. I followed the guide yet nothing seems to help. I edited both configure files and installed the plugin into wordpress everything seems good in the back system yet i cant get the user login part to work together.

My site is http://bloggerhouse.com/ and the forum is http://bloggerhouse.com/forum

Any help to getting this to work would really be appreciated thanks!

Link to Latest UNREAD post

Published on August 2nd, 2009 by anandasama

Ive seen some forums have special links coming up on a topic when there is some new post that a member didnt read, and the link will take you to the last unread post instead of the last post.

Is this something that can be done in BBpress?

How to upgrade from 0.95 to 1.0x ?

Published on August 2nd, 2009 by

Hi there,

I’ve some strange problems upgrading from 0.95 to 1.0.x.

I’ve a fine running 0.9.5 installation. When I tried upgrading to 1.0.1 I got two error messages. One is “your configuration file is invalid”. Sometimes it works then but after this I got the error “ERROR: could not establish database connection”. Configuration data is checked a hundred times and right.

Today I tried upgrading to 1.0.2 same problem. Turned again everything back and updated to 0.9.6 -> everything works fine.

See it in action here: http://www.celtic-rock.de/bbpress

Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Display random (or online) member avatars

Published on August 2nd, 2009 by anandasama

I currently have the function members online on my BBpress forum but it only gives me member’s name with links. I’d like to be able to output the member’s avatars, or at least getting some function do display a certain set of random avatars of members with links to their profile.

Is one of these ideas possible with some function or script? Thanks in advance.

Can not get past install step 2

Published on August 2nd, 2009 by cTubes

Using version 1.0x

I have install step 1 successfully completed. When I hit ‘goto Step 2’ it tells me “Oh dear! bbPress is already installed.”

and I have no way going to install Step 3 – site settings. That’s where my problem starts.

When I browse the install directory: ctubeslabs.com/bp/ I get a rudimentary login screen where it tells me that http://ctubeslabs.com/forum/ can not be found. No wonder, this should be …/bp/

but where can I configure the forum path? I searched through all PHP files but did not find this config value.

I am stuck, thanks for any help,

cTubes
