PHP Error Messages after Tricky Install

Published on November 21st, 2010 by Ownerer

Hi all.

Just set up a BBPress and WPMU integration. Finally got access to bb-admin files after a bit of tinkering around with the MySQL tables. I had to set a bb_capabilities value and set it Administrator, rather than the Keymaster I made etc. etc. I mention this only as it could be of relevance, I doubt it, but there we are!

I can now login, set up forums, admin them, people can register on the WP site, login at the forums, it’s all going great. Or so I thought.

When I go to the bb-admin pages, everytime, this hasn’t just started occuring, I get the following error messages:

Warning: Division by zero in /home/unibbco/public_html/bbpress/bb-includes/functions.bb-statistics.php on line 214

Warning: Division by zero in /home/unibbco/public_html/bbpress/bb-includes/functions.bb-statistics.php on line 194

Warning: Division by zero in /home/unibbco/public_html/bbpress/bb-includes/functions.bb-statistics.php on line 174

Warning: Division by zero in /home/unibbco/public_html/bbpress/bb-includes/functions.bb-statistics.php on line 244

Any idea on why this is and how I can fix it?

The forums have 3 users, no posts, only one forum.

Thanks in advance for any assistance! :)

I searched the forums and read the discussions on paid access. I didn’t find anything, but I was just wondering if a solution has been developed yet that anyone knows about?

Newbie Install question

Published on November 19th, 2010 by accesslc

Hi Everyone,

First of, hello bbPress world!! I am a newbie here and am about to install bbpress on one of my wordpress sites. This is my first time adding a bbpress forum onto a wordpress blog and I have a few basic questions. I have browsed through several of the posts but have not really found a specific answer, so here goes my questions:

1) Should we be creating a separate database for bbpress or share the one we are using our worpdress on?

2) Is it recommended using a bridge so wordpress users can be members of the blog and forum without having to create 2 separate accounts, one for blog and another for forum?

Thanks,

Alex

BBpress is not a search engine friendly forum

Published on November 17th, 2010 by Technology Updates

BBpress is not a search engine friendly forum. I am right ?

I have installed this bbpress on my website (http://www.consumercourt.comn.in) but its not able to perform well in Google because of, its not following the standard forum structure. I am getting almost 3 to 4 unique articles per week on my forum. But to crawl these articles google is taking a month. This situation has made me to tell you that bbpress is not search engine friendly…

Please let me know your thoughts. Please share your experience, if any.

And also please let me know how to make it seo friendly ?

bbpress doesn't send emails

Published on November 17th, 2010 by Alex and Anthony

At http://www.alexapps.co.cc/community/ we have a bbpress installation. It’s hosted at source forge because we didn’t want to use there forum system that is already supplied, and i already know that they have the mail function disabled in php so you have to use a external smtp server to send email and i’ve tried the SMTP mailer for bbPress and it doesn’t work with gmail or the smtp server source forge supplies. What can i do?

Logged out when IP changes!

Published on November 16th, 2010 by TheNet

Hello everyone,

Whenever the IP is changed, my installation of bbPress logs me out and ask me to login again.

I’ve checked the cookies, the expiration date of them are in 2011

How can i fix that?

Thanks
