Content Pushed to Right

Published on November 16th, 2010 by BroskiiFX

I just installed bbpress on my site, and when I opened it up, it all seems to be pushed to the right. Is there a way to fix this, or should I just go ahead and download a different theme? http://beta.root-ed.com/bbpress

Broken HTML in updated bbPress

Published on November 16th, 2010 by DaxterSpeed

Some time ago, a forum I’m on a lot had it’s bbPress updated. Lots of stuff got fixed by that, but even more broke. Mostly plugins, for an example, the old PM plugin doesn’t seem to support line breaks anymore. Nor does quotes within HTML world at all. As an example, if I’d write <a href=”url” I’d get <a href=”url”” (same with spaces) with a few extra troubles.

So my question is this simply, what is the recommended way to fix a forum with many bugs. Is it smarter to just update the PM plugin to the latest version, even though old PM’s will be removed? Or is it possible to fix linebreaks within PM’s? And how would I go about fixing the quote within HTML problem?

Looking for Custom bbpress design.

Published on November 16th, 2010 by gorillaryan

Anyone out there who has some time this week to work on a customization for bbpress to integrate it with the look and feel of my site?

I’ve loaded bbpress and integrated the databases and cookies and all of that, so need someone who can blend the design and make sure everything up and functional.

Please contact me directly if interested and only if you have precious bbpress customization work to show.

If I am posting this request in the wrong forum, my apologies and please direct me to the correct place to seek out some help in this department as I am not familiar enough with bbpress to execute it myself.

Thanks,

Ryan

Is it possible to add a page to a template?

But by only modifying things in the template directory? So not creating files in bbpress root or using plugins…

Import a forum and export it to either WordPress posts or bbPress topics

Published on November 14th, 2010 by Laurent Matignon

Hi people,

I’m running a (french) WP (3.0.1) site :

http://www.oreille-malade.com

There is a (not integrated) bbPress (1.02) forum :

http://www.oreille-malade.com/forum

I used to participate a lot in a forum dealing with same kind of topics (hearing issues) : http://www.sos-audition.org (phpbb)

Today one of the admin of SOS-audition.org told me they decided to close their forum in a near future. This is very sad as there is a lot of good informations on this forum. I don’t want it to disappear completely from the web !

These people don’t agree to let me import all their datas because they think it would not be “correct” for users but they are OK for me to import all topics I participated in. In other words, I am allowed to import SOME of their content.

I let more than 2000 posts on this forum those days so you can guess it would be a loooooong task for me to do it all manually.

But as they completely abandon the forum they don’t want to do anything to help me do this. So no way for me to get my hands on their phpbb database :-(

So here is my question :

is there a (quite simple) way to import this content and export it to :

1. either posts on WordPress

2. or topics on bbPress

Any help would be much appreciated !

Best regards

WordPress/Buddypress cannot find my bb-config.php file

Published on November 14th, 2010 by pcgs51

I installed BuddyPress and had it all working fine, no 404 errors or anything. So once I figured I had it working I installed bbPress. I chose to have it integated with my WordPress/BuddyPress site. I filled out the 3 step form and was under the impression that everything went well. Is there anywhere that I can find a fix or suggestions how to fix.

Also, I can see the new forum outside my wordpress site but even though I can see the page and can see that I am logged in, I cannot adjust settings because I can see no Admin area.

Thanks.
