I want to have sticky post (about one per forum), but I don’t want them to show up at the top of recent posts in the home (they should show in order, like the other posts), and I want them to show at the top of the corresponding forum.
Is that possible? Is there a plugin?

I have the following scenario: Members of my club is crying for a forum to offload our mailinglist. In the works is also a new club blog platform but that is going to take a while. So what I want to do is:
1. Install/Set up bbPress standalone.
2. Let users register
3. Use the bbPress forum
3. When the new WP based blog is good to go, Install WP and share the db with bbPress. The main thing here is that users should be able to continue using their credentials in WP too.
4. Use WP and bbPress in harmony happily ever after 
From what I have gathered (reading docs and forum posts) this is at least theoretically possible. But is it plausible? Has anyone done it this way (bbPress first, then WP)? Please feel free to tell my why it is a really bad idea (if it is).
I always have the option to argue that the club should wait with the forum until the WP blog is up an running. But if it is possible I would like to start the forum asap.

BBPress has nothing else going for it other than the fact that it’s from the WordPress folks.
1. Simplicity: Vanilla is top notch, and also has a plugin system.
2. Comprehensiveness: Invision boards or PHPBB etc.
So. Why is it that BBPress is not just a full plugin to WordPress and therefore totally integrated with WordPress? If this is already being discussed (as I hope it is!) then when is this planned?
I need to install two separate forums, each on a different page of a WordPress site. One forum page is private for members and people must be registered in order to see the posts, or to create a post. The other forum, on a different page, is public to read, but must be registered to create a post. Is this possible (and hopefully easy) with bbPress?
How can I let users log in to buddypress on my site, with their facebook.. iv looked around and found something where i had to make an app on facebook and then use the API, I did all that, verified over the phone, and it just never got to working. . is there some easier way to do this?

Im sure there’s something somewhere on this but I’m not finding it.. How can I allow users to upload pictures, like any and all social network sites…
What is the most effective way, something where 10 years from now I wont be dealing with having to switch methods…

Hi admins, I was trying to add a plugin on bbpress (the plugin’s name is WangGuard), I logged in with my WordPress.org user/pass but the request form didn’t show up.
I read the forums and saw this happen some time ago, but without a resolution.
Before I gave up I signup for an account on bbpress.org, sign in and the request form was finally displayed.
The problem (I think) is that this form is not showing when you login with your WordPress.org credentials, that was my case tho.

I’ve just installed bbpress to my site and I have created three forums that I would like to use for different purposes as listed below:
1) open access – no log in required, existing posts can be seen by anyone. New posts are moderated and have to be approved by me (admin).
2) members only – users have to register themselves and have their registration approved by me before they can read topics in this forum. When I have done that they can log in and read/post to this forum without moderation.
3) super-users only – I have to manually set up each user, after which they can log in and read or post to this forum without moderation. Existing posts can only be seen by members of this ‘super user’ group.
The users for forum (3) would be a subset of forum (2) – all members of (3) can post to (2) but not vice versa.

Wer die deutsche Übersetzung von bbPress sucht, wird nun bei mir fündig. Ich habe alte Sprachdateien übernommen und auf den aktuellen Stand gebracht und werde sie auch weiter pflegen.
Neben den Sprachdateien für die aktuelle Version 1.0.3 findet ihr bei mir auch die Übersetzung für die kommende Version 1.1 und die alten Sprachdateien für 1.0.2.

I want to make a page go to my bbpress forum. I have read i can add the slug / permalink but my forum is installed one folder down. if i put a slash in it takes it out and does not work. How can I get round this?
ie my wordpress address is www.mywebsite.com
forum is www.mywebsite.com/folder/bbpress
if i put the permalink in on the create page bit it changes it to www.mywebsite.com/folderbbpress
