Hi, checked around and didn’t see anything about this so I thought I’d ask. I’m trying to use Google custom search as a one-stop search engine for my buddypress/bbpress site but for some reason topics don’t show up as results, only the forums.
Anyone else experienced this/know what may be up?

I have the Chameleon theme from ElegentThemes. And i am trying to find out what to do to make bbpress work. I have it installed and works great on my mobile device. So i know it’s something to do with the theme i have. But i’m not sure where to start to make it work. This is really all i need so if there is a better way of doing it I am all ears! This site is for a small staffing company (365worx.com). They post a lot of things on Craigs List. But, they want to start posting things on there site. They don’t do a lot of it. So i don’t need anything special like phpBB. But i have thought about it and just don’t care for it much. Since i am so new to this it’s a little frustrating lol. Anyway, they will only post things to one forum, and no one will reply to it. it’s just to let people know it’s there.

Hi everyone. I’ve been trying to display posts from the forum on a static home page so that it gives the appearance of a blog. Basically, I’m using the tewntyeleven theme and I’m using the showcase.php template to display the forum entries.

So far, I’ve managed to modify it so that super stickies are put in the featured slideshow. The forum posts are displayed properly, and I’ve managed to pull the topic tags. One of the things I’ve been having a lot of trouble with is displaying the forum a topic is posted in as a category. Normally there is a line of text below the topic excerpt that says, “posted in (category name)” . But it seems that nothing I have tried so far is working. In fact, whenever I try to call the forum title, is displays the topic title instead.
I’m not a programmer, and I know next to nothing about php, I’ve been doing a lot of reading, and trying to learn as much as I can, but I’m just running into a brick wall here. Any help anyone could offer would be much appreciated.
Showcase.php uses content.php to display all that meta data. right now it looks like this..

For now though, I’m hoping that someone out there can help me with the “category” issue. Anyone have any ideas?
Hi, I’m running the current versions of wordpress/buddypress with the current bbpress plugin. I’d like to return usernames instead of real names in the forum, or user_login names instead of user_id names. I’m not sure where to make the adjustments. Any advice?
Is anyone familiar with a Like button for bbPress/BuddyPress? I’m looking for one that lets users “Like” posts on the forums (liking pages and blog posts would be nice, too, but I’m not picky). I’ve looked around on the plugin forum here and I’ve tried multiple searches, but the results are always the same: It’s either a Facebook like button or its the BuddyPress Like (which appears to be all but dead in the water). If anyone is familiar with an option that I’ve somehow overlooked, I would greatly appreciate a point in the right direction.
In summary: I’m looking for a “Like” button that does not use Facebook and allows users to like individual forum posts.
I installed bbpress 2.0.2. It works fine with wordpress. However, I cannot see the editor bar when creating/editing topics and replies. I am wondering whether there is a way I can use the editor in wordpress or something similar?
Appreciate any help and information.

I have created a new user on my new bbpress installation, with the role of ‘forum participant,’ which I assume means access to the forums.
However it doesn’t seem to be working out! (see screen capture at http://simplemethod.ca/wp-content/uploads/forum-not-working.jpg)

I am using WP 3.3-RC2 + latest nightlies of bbpress 2.1 and BuddyPress 1.6. I am trying to get BuddyPress’s group forums replaced by bbpress. Once I disable “Discussion Forums” settings in Buddypress then bbpress settings will show me the option “Allow BuddyPress Groups to have their own forums”.
I can’t get it to work. Is this still in development or am I doing something wrong? Following trac timeline I thought this should work now.
Can someone please clear me up or guide me through the process to get Buddypress group forums working with this bbpress setting???
Unfortunately I don’t like BuddyPress Group forums…

I’m running a bbPress 2 within BuddyPress, so bbp_reply_author_link(); links to the BuddyPress profile – domain.com/members/username. I’d like to change that link so that the username links to the WordPress author page (domain.com/author/userame). Changing the user slug in the bbPress settings to “author” didn’t help. 
So – how is it possible to change that link or alternatively to display the username only, without any link?

I installed bbpress on my WordPress site. I am able to define forums and topics within my admin area in WordPress, however the forum doesn’t show up in my menu bar.
