BBcode / HTML editor toolbar?

Published on June 24th, 2012 by Manapunk1

I am looking for a button bar editor plugin for bbPress, for posts. I have a lot of people posting on my forums that do not have familiarity with hashing bbcode / html manually into a post, so I would like to find a nice button bar / editor plugin for posting. Unfortunately it looks like the BBcode Wysiwig Editor has gone sour as it is throwing errors whenever I try to activate it.

Are there any others out therE?

PHP coding for values on new-topic form

Published on June 23rd, 2012 by zzweb

Hi everyone, I have this page here:

http://www.complianceupdater.com/mortgage-compliance-checklist-questions/

It is running off BBpress plugin. Right now, you’ll see that the new topic form does not work. If you submit, it asks ‘Are You Sure You Want To Do This?’. That form is hardcoded in, however as the encryption codes change frequently, I need that to be ‘soft coded’ in via PHP. How would I do this? Please write back if I’m not being clear, I’ll explain more. Thanks!!!

Problem building a domain.com/forums page

Published on June 23rd, 2012 by wpmhweb

Hello,

I am almost finished configuring bbPress and I just notice trying to publish a page with the URL mydomain.com/forums that it shows the default forums template and not the page that I have created with the shotcodes. There is anyway to fix this? I would like to have my own custom /forums page display.

Thanks for the help!

Default Template not working for forum page

Published on June 23rd, 2012 by icandygraphics

I am using a customized child theme, which has a default layout with a sidebar. My activity, members, and register pages are all using the default template of my child theme, and the sidebar is showing. I am having trouble with the forums page, though. If I add a page called “Forums”, select the default template, insert the shortcode

, and add the page to my menu, it looks great and has the sidebar. However, if I put “forums” as the Forums Base slug, then the page goes to full-width content with no sidebar. If I put “forum” as the slug, the page looks good, but as soon as you use the breadcrumbs to navigate, it takes you to www.example.com/forum, which has the full-width content. I think it might have something to do with the template hierarchy, but I don’t know enough about that to figure this out. Can anyone help?

problems when creating the forum

Published on June 22nd, 2012 by Hwyatbig

I just installed the bbpress plugin on my wordpress site but I’m dealing with a problem I don’t understand…

When reading the codex, I see it should be very simple, and I think I’m doing what’s explained to create my forum.

for the example I just created a forum named “exemple” (and let the attributes as they were) and then when I have a look at the address which has been created I have nothing but the name “Exemple”, and the description I gave. But no way to create a post or anything.

(you can have access to the page in question in my profile)

Did I miss something ?

No sidebar showing in Forum display

Published on June 22nd, 2012 by maf2874b

My new forum is not showing a sidebar as the other pages in my network blog install is doing, correctly. Any tip on how to remedy this?

I also get this but not sure if it has anything to do with the sidebar not showing.

“Your active theme does not include bbPress template files. Your forums are using the default styling included with bbPress.”

Thanks.
