Published on June 24th, 2012 by Matthias-K

Hi, I’m wondering how to get rid of the link and the following counting of the posts (simply nothing only the text needed, s.th. like “the following forums are for this and that”). I need to use the headline as a headline/description for the following forums. I need to design this to have it a little bit more sorted.

Published on June 24th, 2012 by ilanatam

Hi All

I have a multisite installation (3.3), and have bbpress installed (2.0.3) and buddypress (1.5.6).

I want to open one area for few forums. only the site admin can open new forums, but everyone, including members without blogs, can write there. and some of the users can be managers of forums.

Is it possible?

what is the best practise?

will upgrading to WP 3.4 will help?

A weird problem regarding problem posting

Published on June 24th, 2012 by hinduismfacts

Hi, my forum address is http://hinduismfacts.org/hindu-forum. I am using wordpress version 3.3.2 and bbpress 2.0.3.

When I or any user try to post a topic or a reply on the forum, the following error occurs.

The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept

cookies. Try Again.

The user has to log in again or use back button to go to forum then.

But surprisingly, topic gets posted.

Please help.

Importing Mingle Forums into bbPress?

Published on June 24th, 2012 by Manapunk1

Is it even possible? I have a Mingle Forums install, but I want to switch to something like bbPress because Mingle development has stalled some year plus ago. I’ve got security worries and compatibility issues mounting, and want to switch to something better.

But I would MUCH rather not have to lose everything from my present forums. Am I fresh out of luck?

bbpress integration with twentytwelve user profile page problems

Published on June 24th, 2012 by Pixeldrum

Have successfully integrated bbpress 2.0.3 into twentytwelve responsive theme that was updated with WP 3.4. (Had to start again, as WP 3.4 broke another theme.) I am using it with WPMU Membership plugin and that works too. The membership is private, access to the forums shows up in the menu when a user has logged in, members are added manually.

The one thing I have not been able to do is to format (CSS) the bbpress user profile/account page. And if I enter a full path to a user account into a new browser that has no users logged in their information shows up and can be edited!!! (example: http://mysite.ca/forums/neighbours/test-user/)

This is a cross post with WPMUDEV, as their membership plugin is involved, but I am asking if there is something I can do with bbpress files to make the profile pages more secure and properly styled. Can I somehow forward the user profile to a page I can format better? Please advise. The security issue troubles me most.
