I’m using bbPress in conjunction with the Members plugin and have a “Private” forum, that only users of a certain level can access (we call it “Employees”).
It works fine, great, thanks 🙂
However, if a non “Employee” logged in user has the direct link to a post (or clicks on the “Freshness: {time}” in the post list, then they can see the topic directly.
How can I hide this? Ideally I want to do it plugin level, rather than changing the theme.

My website is amanofreason.com. How can I better organize my forums. Can I put some forums into a certain “titled” group and put other forums into a different group? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
This is a plugin request and I wouldn’t assume that it be rolled into bbPress proper.
A highly prized feature of allowing users to subscribe to sub-forums (via their account page) and be sent notifications (excerpts or full) of a new topic or reply. There are several plugins that capture parts of this, some quite close, but none that have the full functionality.

Works great at sending out customized emails at a user role level. But it’s an all or nothing solution and does not let the user pick the subforums they’re interested in.
bbPress Digest

Does a great job on letting the user select the sub-forums (from the user’s account) that they’d like to receive notifications from. Sadly, it’s only a weekly or daily digest.
Marrying those two plugins would produce a wonderful hybrid and would take some doing. I’m a little surprised that this feature has not been created yet, as it is used in several other forum software ecosystems.

I’ve done everything in the installation guide (https://codex.bbpress.org/bbpress-in-your-language/) to traduce it in french.
But I think I am missing something here, do I have to activate something, do I have to use codestyling localization to complete the traduction?
Is just uploading the files and having my WP dashboard in the same language should get everything translated^

I’m new to bbPress and have a few questions.
1. When a new user registers, they gain access to the backend where they can edit their profile. However it also gives them access to the bbpress dashboard and jetpack. While in jetpack they can modify settings.
I want bbpress to operate like the bbpress forum on wordpress.org.
2. I don’t want any new user to have access to the toolbar, especially access to /wp-admin/. I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours.
Why can a new user gain access to the backend? New users are giving the role of subscriber. Since seeing this, I’ve disabled registration.
Just want to confirm or find out if there is a way for me to integrate this feature. Here\’s the scenario, I want anyone to be able to register for the blog with only viewing privileges & Offer the opportunity to “Upgrade\” for a small fee to be able to comment, start posts, & view certain videos. Is there a way to do that with your product?

For the Forum page, I have a full width template selected. So initial view of the forums is fine, but once you click on an individual forum, or topic within, the width is squashed since it apparently ignores the page template and uses single.php…..
The forum defaulting to single.php which is useless in most circumstances where you have a 300px sidebar (many sites) as the default bbpress forum theme gets squashed.
How do I fix it so that it properly uses the full width? Thanks.
I am trying to use pdf embed plugin and the embed codes file to use as the first post of the topic …
If I use this on a page it displays the pdf fine but it does not do so in the topic it just displays the text with the embed codes stripped
Anyone advise why not or what I can use instead

I have installed BBPress 2.2.4 and I use the plugin ‘Members’ (v. 0.2.2).
On my WP Blog, most users have the role ‘Fullmember’, and I want this group to be the only one that can see the fullmember forum.
So I created it, and I checked ‘Fullmember’ in the Content Permissions, but nobody can see it.
The forum itself is a hidden forum, if I change it to Public, everyone can see it, even normal subscribers.
The ‘Fullmember’ users have the forum role ‘Participant’, if I change this to ‘Moderator’, they can see the forum, but then they can edit every post, and I don’t want that.
Can anybody help me with this?
