Stopping Login and Register jumping to wp-admin page?

Published on June 3rd, 2014 by morgykat

HI,

I have added the bbPress Login widget to the side column of a /forums page, and set up a register page linked to from this widget at /register with

Both the login and register functions work okay, but both jump to /wp-admin.php if a user enters the wrong details, e.g. a wrong password or a username already in use.
The question is how to make the forms post to the same page so that the error messages appear neatly on the login form on the /forums page and on the /register page.

Is this possible?

wp version 3.9.1
bbpress version 2.5.3

many thanks

Ian.

Links not showing in Forum

Published on June 3rd, 2014 by BryceL

Hey there!

I’m having problems in my forum at the moment where the links don’t show up in the text. This page is a good example of my problem.

The links show up when the surrounding text is highlighted, but you can’t see them when it’s not. It’s strange, because the links everywhere else show up fine.

I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks!

Now, I’m looking for advice on How to show “Website” part at User Profile page.
By default, 4 sections are displayed on User Profile page.

1.user-description, 2.forum-role, 3.topic-count, 4.reply-count

In edit page, There is a section for entering users “Website”.
in spite of entering the section, it would not be display at User’s Profile page.
How can I display it at the User’s Profile page.

I found that I need to add some PHPcodes into “user-profile.php”.
But as you know, I have no idea What codes I have to put in.

Template hierarchy not respected

Published on June 2nd, 2014 by aborruso

Hi all,
I have an old blog with Twenty Eleven theme.

I have copied “/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/templates/default” folders and file in my “/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven” folder.

Then I have created forum.php file making a copy of page.php.

When I modify forum.php there is any change in my website, it seems it reads another theme file.

What’s wrong in my template structue? I have the bbpress folder copied before and these php files:
404.php
archive.php
author.php
bbpress-functions.php
category.php
comments.php
content-aside.php
content-featured.php
content-gallery.php
content-image.php
content-intro.php
content-link.php
content-page.php
content-quote.php
content-single.php
content-status.php
content.php
footer.php
forum.php
functions.php
header.php
image.php
index.php
page.php
search.php
searchform.php
showcase.php
sidebar-footer.php
sidebar-forum.php
sidebar-page.php
sidebar.php
single.php
tag.php

Show pagination in single topic

Published on June 2nd, 2014 by aborruso

Dear all,
I have a 100 posts topic forum, but I have no pagination in the topic page:

I view the pagination only in the topics list page:

How is it possible to show it also in single topic page?

Thank you very much

Comments not appearing immediately

Published on June 1st, 2014 by dice2dice

Hi,

For the past two weeks or so I’ve had a problem in the forums on my site where members comments no longer appear immediately. It can take a while for them to appear. I’m not sure how long, but several minutes.

This has lead to people posting the same post several times in the belief it’s not appearing, and others getting annoyed with me because it’s not working.

Has anyone else encountered this? Do you have suggestions for what might be causing it?

My website is: www.whichinvestmenttrust.com

Thanks

Some Replies Threaded Even with Threading Turned Off

Published on June 1st, 2014 by

This seems to be a recent issue. I’ve only noticed it in one topic so far. But some replies are displaying as threaded even though Reply Threading is disabled in my bbPress settings. This happens at the link below as well as near the bottom of the first page of that same thread:

Writer's Market Directory Special Feature — You Choose the Focus

Any thoughts on why this would be happening? So far reply order doesn’t seem to be affected. It’s more a display problem with those replies being indented. The only updates I’ve run recently are for a caching plugin, but the problem was occurring before that.

I’m using WP 3.9.1, bbPress 2.5.3, and I’m seeing the issue in both Chrome and Firefox.

Thanks!

Auto post in database with the data provided

Published on June 1st, 2014 by shashankism

Hi ,

I have a forum with bbpress, buddypress and wordpress CMS. I have collected data which i want to post on regular interval with my collected data.

I want to know which columns and tables are affected and in which sequence when a new post is created so that I can post a new forum topic directly from database.

Existing users new topic slug is ?post_type=topic&p=xx

Published on June 1st, 2014 by demonboy

Got some strange permalink thing going on with existing users. They are all part of a private group as per Robin’s private group plugin. I created a new user to test and that user can post new topics as normal in the forum. However existing users, when they post a new topic, are creating topics with the ?post_type=topic&p=6609 type slug, not the pretty permalink.

I have reset Permalinks under settings. I have tried changing them and then changing them back but this doesn’t seem to be relevant since new subscribers can post no problem.

I checked the private group members and noticed that they had a couple of permissions set to ‘deny’ that the new user had set to ‘allow’. These included View Private Topic, but again this can’t be relevant as the forum is actually public. I have checked and double checked the differences between the existing forum members and the new forum member and they are now the same, but the existing users can still not post creating the pretty permalink.

Any clues/pointers/checks?
