Hello,
I have discovered an error in recalculating forum freshness. It looks like its coming from the actual database.
It appears that even after trying “Recalculate last activity in forum and topics” in the Repair Forums page, the main forum index is showing the date of the last forum topic. I looked in the database and saw the _bbp_last_active_time was being updated to the value of the date of the most recent forum topic.
So, you can assume that bbp_forum_freshness_link function works as intended since its pulling the right data from the DB, just the recalculation is off.
Also, I should add, these replies were added via the backend, not the front end.
Anyone experiencing this same thing?

Hello all,
I’m having an issue as follows:
Only the Keymaster role can view any forums
I have only 2 users on my site
joedostie – KeyMaster
joedostie2 – made this account each – Spectator, Moderator, Participant <- it only VIEWED anything when I made it a KeyMaster.
When I try and register the accounts they tell me I am already logged on.
I also deactivated WP-Members thinking that may be related. – No success
I had my Forums as a sub-site but I have since moved it up to “No Parent” thinking that may be related with permalinks. – No success
The additional issue is that the KeyMaster account can NOT post or reply to anything via the Web.
I don’t get any error message of any kind and I checked my logs and nothing shows up.
This is a very generic install.
It all works if I go through the dashboard but not the web.
All the forums are set to Open and Public
I don’t see anything in Akismet SPAM even after I try to reply
All registered users get the “Participant” role.
Anonymous is not allowed.
I am using the Avada 3.7 theme & Worpress 4.0
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated as Im at wits end and have looked through so many post I am burnt out at this point.
Thanks!

I have a private forum where I’d like to run some kind of mailing list in one topic (may be in a seperate forum as well). Every logged in user should be able to view the topic and subscribe to it, but only admins should be allowed to post so the mailing load can be controlled.
My ideas:
1) Close the topic. But it seems like subscribe-notifications are only sent when the topic is open. Is there a fix for that?
2) Use seperate forums and the Private Groups plugin (great stuff btw!) so only few people can post in the mailing forum/topic. But it’s not possible to make the forum/topic viewable but “post-protected” for one group.
I’m using WP 4.0.1 and bbP 2.5.4. Example forum of the site (bbP-design is to be fixed): http://tumkolleg.ovtg.de/?forum=example-forum
I’m thankful for any suggestions. 🙂

Hello,
I moved my site to a new server a couple of months back. My forum and all functionality is still present. However, in my WordPress dashboard the plugin “Forum” tab is missing for me to make any adjustments to my settings. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling BBPress and the issue persists. Any idea how I can get BBPress back in my WordPress Dashboard? Thanks.

The only plugin I found so far that could be of use is the BadgeOS plugin and BadeOS Community Add-on. But I want the badges to appear under the users avatar, for example like under my avatar on this page that I am posting a topic in.
I asked for some help here, and they provided some code which I dont know how to make use of it : https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-can-i-get-badges-to-appear-under-users-avatars-in-forum-topics?replies=3#post-6301447

I wanted to go back to default theme and not use child theme. I exported settings in back up saved. went and activated regular theme and pasted export settings in then hit import, waited for it to refreash and hit save, but all the color settings are old and not even right from old. Did i do it correctly?

Hello, I am trying to use bbpress to have several different forum levels on my website.
I am using the Public in a way that anyone (even visitors) can see the content, but they must Sign in to Post.
I am using Private forums to be visible once users are logged in, and only have certain members able to post.
I am using Hidden forums for internal purposes, only visible to admins.
The Plugin I am trying to use with bbpress to accomplish this is the bbpress Advanced Capabilities plugin. Everything is working except the Private forums. For some reason only Moderators and Admins can see the topics and replies in the private forums. This is after I have enabled the read_private_forums, read_private_topics, and read_private_replies capabilities. I must be missing something, but I do not know what.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I was building a website with wordpress (including the bbpress plugin) and decided to make a dummy user account in order to test everything out. It would not let me log in with the dummy account, sometimes it came back with a message about “too many redirects” but most times it just timed out and went nowhere. It would however let me log into the site with my “admin” account. I deactivated all of the plugins and then re-activated them one at a time, logging out and attempting to log in with the dummy account after each one. I was able to log in with the dummy account after each one was re-activated…until I re-activated bbpress. Any ideas on what the issue could be?
