    Hi,

    Was wondering if there is a way to enable registered users to vote(or rate) other users comments & replies.

    Thanks

    Yes, we could set up a wiki – but to avoid (most of) the stated problem it would have to be a technical/developers wiki for now. We should also agree to move it’s contents to any official wiki when it comes along. I assume that an official wiki would use the same software as codex.wordpress.org which appears to be mediawiki, so to be compatible when the time comes we would have to use that too. My personal thought is that it is about time for this, and as the development community grows it is becoming necessary. I could set one up in half an hour (I’d be happy to host it – ad free). And we could work out the taxonomy of it here.

    To be slightly democratic, I say if ten people who we recognise as regulars/developers vote for it here, then we should go ahead. I’m also willing to hear arguments against the idea too.

    Should we vote on it?

    Isn’t that entire ‘forum’ based on just normal posts and then using the rating plugin from mdawaffe? It can be done on bbPress if I am understanding it correctly. Just have an install that has the ratings plugin and then a template to display the items on the first page that have the highest rating or the most votes. Am I missing something? (I easily could be)

    That’s a pretty good guess. The files are there (they don’t load, but they don’t give a 404 Not Found error either) and this image file is there in he proper location:

    I will ditto the vote for the files having been uploaded in binary rather than ascii format.

    I am looking for some help with the plugin bb-ratings. Specifically the functions bb_top_topics. From what I gather it returns an array of topics in descending order of the votes the topics have received. I took that information and put the following in my front page template: <?php bb_top_topics();

    foreach ($topics as $topic) : ?>

    <tr<?php alt_class('forum'); ?>>

    <td><a href="<?php topic_link(); ?>"><?php topic_title(); ?></a>

    </td>

    <td class="num"><div class="rating-holder"><?php bb_rating();?>

    <span class="count"><?php bb_rating_count(); ?>

    The problem is that it does not display the topics in descending order, it just displays all of the most recent in the order they were entered.

    I know the plugin page (bbpress.org/plugins/) has this function working as it should be.

    Thanks in advance for any help.
