I’m looking for a plugin for bbpress that will hold posts with links in them in a pending queue to be approved by admin before posting.

There is something like that in wordpress for comments with links in them. If the comment contains a link, it’s marked as pending and needs to be approved by admin before appearing.

I’ve been getting a lot of spam lately on my forum and this would go a long way to prevent it.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be helpful. Thanks!

I’ve just started getting massive spam the last two days as well. I’ve been using reCAPTCHA and it seemed to be working up until recently. I can’t seem to use akismet, I don’t even see it in the list of plugins for my bbpress.

Does anyone know of some type of plugin that would require admin approval for posts with links in them? That would go a long way for me.

I would like the ability in 1.1 to be able to have the posts of anonymous posters to be held for approval from a mod. Registered users would not need approval.

Hi guys I’ve created a facebook connect plugin, I had submitted it for approval yesterday, within few hour I got email “Your plugin hosting request has been aproved at http://plugins-svn.bbpress.org” but when I went to that site it’s not working?? and it seems plugin isn’t approved and not listed.. I’d like to know if it was rejected for some reason.

To the best of my knowledge you cannot deactivate registration in the admin panel. However, there is a plugin available that will make it so you(the keymaster) will have to approve all registrations.

I just had a look at topicstarters forum. THis is a kid who wants to spam the board. Just bozo him. Built in plugin.

Marius your previous bad experience with mass delete may have been caused by failing to do a full recount in admin after deleting many posts.

Wouldnt reccomend either Akismet nor Mass Delete plugin.

Maybe it is interessting but we have just modified the moderator new post modification plugin (https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/moderator-new-post-notification/) a little for the very same reason so we can moderate the first posts of new members. Those are now set to spam automatically and then can be reviewed first. It works together with the Akismet plugin for the moderation naturally.

You can mass delete the posts using this Mass Edit plugin:

Hey All

Looking for a way for the admin to approve any newly registered users using the latest version of bbpress.

I know there’s a plugin out for this, but it doesn’t seem to work past version .9

Has anyone figured out a way to do this (or a workaround) that works for version 1+?

This is very vital to the forums I’ve set up so I’m really hoping there’s a fix out there!

Not overly, its not inherantly how bbPress (or WordPress really) works, as Moderation (or lack of tools i order to fascilitate this properly) is really one of bbPress’s major downfalls.

That said, I typed in “approve” to the plugin search and found these plugins on the first page:

New BBpress user here.

I have a sensitive forum (political) and Id like to be able to approve users when they register.

I have found a plug to hide forums from non-registereed users.

The only plug I found that comes close to what I want is out of date.

Surely this is a simple thing? Can anyone point me in the direction of a plug in that would allow me to approve new users? (I have searched)

wp/bb sync used to work very well for me but all of a sudden i’ve got this problem:

the comment from bbpress to wordpress appears blank, no words in it. There is the name of the author, comment isnt in approval but is published on the site, counted in bbpress… just EMPTY, lol.

Plugin works perfectly the other way round, from wp to bb.

I am using WP version 2.9.2. and BBpress Version 1.0.2.

Does anyone has any advice, please? I really dont know how to get it back to work, i have tried and failed so many times, already.

Do you want to be able to approve topics/posts before they even appear on your site?

If so, this plugin is great but it only works with earlier versions of bbPress:

I don’t think there’s a “hold for approval” moderation plugin that works with 1.0? But if someone knows of one, please post a link! It’s come up a few times in the past few weeks…
