    How do you mean? If you remove that line above, it should work for you. If you are a little confused again, just restart by editing the config-sample.php again as it has everything you need. It doesn’t however, have that line about the wp-config.php in it.

    I should have caught that the first time *SLAPS HIMSELF*. You are including your wp-config.php file for WordPress integration? For integration with wordpress, you need to define the other parts of wordpress, but I wouldn’t include that file as it has nothing to do with integration or with getting bbPress going. Take out this and it should work:

    require_once( dirname(dirname(__FILE__)) . '/wp-config.php' );

    If you want to integrate with WordPress, check out this integration documentation for bbPress and WP.

    Chrishajer reported this on the 11th as well. I sent in an email to the devlist, but I created a TRAC ticket as well at:

    I think that link is for getting to a defined div in the forums viewing page (as create new topic is already at the bottom of page), while on the main page, that link takes you to a new page. I could be missing it, but the link is created the same on both pages and it really only works on the one page. It doesn’t need to be linked on the page in question I guess!

    I think is must be just the way the comments are put in! Maybe try this format with the commenting out:

    <?php

    define('BBDB_NAME', '********');
    define('BBDB_USER', '********');
    define('BBDB_PASSWORD', '********');
    define('BBDB_HOST', '********');

    $bb->domain = 'http://www.dongbang51.net';
    $bb->path = '/board/';
    $bb->name = 'New';
    $bb->admin_email = '********@hotmail.com';

    $bb->mod_rewrite = false;

    $bb->page_topics = 30;

    $bb->edit_lock = 60;

    $bb->gmt_offset = 0;

    define('BBLANG', '');

    $bb->akismet_key = '';

    $bb->wp_table_prefix = '';
    $bb->wp_home = '';
    $bb->wp_siteurl = '';

    /* Stop editing */

    if ( !defined('BBPATH') )
    define('BBPATH', dirname(__FILE__) . '/' );
    require_once( dirname(dirname(__FILE__)) . '/wp-config.php' );

    ?>

    As well, I am assuming you are using an Akismet number, otherwise have it as:

    $bb->akismet_key = false;

    The plugins will not show up in the admin as they are not like WP in that way. Our plugins go into a folder /my-plugins/ off the root (as you mentioned) and just work. There is no admin CP for plugins in bbPress (yet) and nothing to activate. They are activated the minute that you upload it to the my-plugins/ directory.

    Take a look at this thread:

    https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/185?replies=6

    Then, if that doesn’t help, maybe check out this thread:

    https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/462?replies=4#post-2607

    That first thread is about key masters getting downgraded to administrators and the second thread is about getting a user upgraded to key master through the database and the bb_usermeta or wp_usermeta depending on if you are integrated with WordPress or not.

    The long and the short is, I am not sure why they are not working and what you need to do exactly to get it working. One of the lead developers has a post in the following thread with unsupported characters in tagging and should give you a place to start and a TRAC ticket to add to.

    https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/433?replies=9

    The ticket would be here

    If you are talking about this page with the hyperlinked >> then it would be a bug and I will file a TRAC ticket for it:

    The problem with localhost will be addressed in the next version for sure, but it always helps to check out this ticket for reference to any problems with localhost installs:

    Looking it over, I can’t see any reason why this won’t work. I guess test it out and if you get and error, just delete the plugin and report back here!

    Very Nice! Do you have a copy available for download as a theme that others can use?

    I don’t even like to look at how many errors my forums produce. It is depressing…

    Yeah, just so everyone knows, the error comes out, but the user is still marked as a BOZO, so the desired result is still there.

    I tested it out as I have the same error! It did fix it and a TRAC ticket needs to be created! Good catch! It was your find chrihajer! You post the ticket!

    I got this error when upgrading as well. It won’t make a difference to your bbPress install, just something that needs to be sorted out on the upgrade script. Thanks for reporting!

    Both my forums this doesn’t happen and on the main one (here) it does. lol. I guess speed reading on a feed reader misses things! I will report it! Thanks chrishajer and sorry I can’t read correctly! lol

    I have done exactly what you are doing and cannot replicate this error with or without permalinks. What theme are you running and does it work if you only use the default theme? Are you using any plugins that are being displayed on the login page (as both login forms are displayed on that page)? Does your theme have login.php in it? If it does, what happens when you remove it for the default one?

    Anyone else seeing this error by logging into the top form on login.php?

    When I read your post the first time I missed that you put localhost and that is the problem. Anything before 0.8 you cannot install it on a localhost because there are some issues with it.

    https://trac.bbpress.org/ticket/573

    I would imagine you are running this on 0.8 though. The double slashes on the local server would be the issue. Maybe the address wrong on config.php or your setup? There are quite a few people with successful installs on localhost with 0.8.

    It must be a setup issue, but really glad to hear that it works where it is really important, on the web.

    I don’t believe that anyone has tried to write a converter for punBB directly into bbPress. I would try and find a punBB to phpBB converter and then use the phpBB to bbPress converter. It might not be the easiest thing to do, but unfortunetely, I think that is the only progression we have right now.

    Did you install bbPress before or after having that information in your config.php? Did you see the WP users in the install process when you installed?

    Sorry to get back to you late. Copy this into a file and call it path-to-url.php and drop it into your /my-plugins/ folder. If you don’t have one, create it and drop that file into it.

    <?php

    function fix_bb_path_to_url( $url ) {
    return preg_replace( '|:/([^/])|', '://$1', $url );
    }

    add_filter( 'bb_path_to_url', 'fix_bb_path_to_url', 1, -1 );

    ?>

    It is an error that mdawaffe created that patch for at:

    https://trac.bbpress.org/attachment/ticket/575/path-to-url.php
