In reply to: TAGContent error
I have only had access to test vBulletin 4.x to test importing into bbPress.
Does vBulletin 3.8.x support topic tags at all?
Also this doc has any other known issues https://codex.bbpress.org/import-forums/vBulletin/
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@realhood I still cannot reproduce your issue using the same settings you have above or with ‘Forum Prefix’ unchecked.
This works perfectly http://127.0.0.1/search?bbp_search=test
In reply to: Protected forumMost are using a plugin for this and there are a few that offer similar functions so check out some of the plugins listed https://bbpress.org/plugins/
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@realhood What do you have set for each of these ‘Single Slugs’?
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available! There are many different issues that have been posted here in this thread, please add your specific details of your issues when you post a message, we cannot read minds ๐
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@jezza101 “Can I control which stats are shown? For example โempty tagsโ isnโt something I really want to boast about on my forum!”
‘Empty Tags’ are ONLY shown if you actually have empty topic tags… Essentially that is giving you a hint that you have topic tags with no associated topics so you can delete those empty topic tags.
In reply to: Users deleting their own postsCurrently a ‘Participant’ cannot delete their own posts as per https://codex.bbpress.org/bbpress-user-roles-and-capabilities/
See this thread on customizing your roles https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/add-forum-roles/

In reply to: bbPress 2.3 compat with bbPress Moderation PluginDo you use the bbPress Moderation plugin ?
Edit: I am quite sure you are using this plugin now, please disable it for now and everything should be fine. I asked the author about bbPress 2.3 compat ~2 months ago but we have not heard back from the plugin author.
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 compat with bbPress Moderation PluginCan you give us a link to your forum so we can have a closer look please.
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@probablynot & @jezza101 Will hunt around and see what we can do about having a simple way to turn ‘search’ off. ๐
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@docchewbacca There is no fixed timeline for ‘individual access rights’ forum permissions and all that goes with that feature and what is planned for bbPress 2.4 is still yet to be 100% decided.
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@sadr I get what you are saying regarding search results as excerpts though I think then that if the search term was not in the first ‘x’ words of the excerpt of the topic/reply that would then cause confusion as to how that result is relevant. Maybe create a ticket on trac and discuss it further their might be best option.
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@premitheme I think, from memory @JohnJamesJacoby uses MAMP Pro so I find this one rather odd ๐
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@alexiousrahl Search is enabled by default, you should be able to see the search form at the top of your forums list eg. http://example.com/forums/
I have also updated the Shortcodes and Widgets codex pages.
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@realhood I cannot reproduce your issue of ‘why my search function canโt work, when I use it,it always jump to the home page’
I see no issues using or not using the bbPress ‘forums prefix’

What is the ‘Search Slug’ for bbPress set to? (‘Settings’ -> ‘Forums’ )In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!I have installed XAMPP 1.8.1 for Windows and see no issues with ‘localhost’
For those using MAMP, what version are you using?
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@hlwinkler Can you try your search ‘OpenEars’ using the Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve theme.
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!@themattman Can you please start a separate topic so we can go through your vBulletin issues.
When you start this new topic can you please include the exact details of the error messages you are seeing.
You also should not be running the ‘repair tool’ whilst the converter is still running, you run it after the conversion has finished. You may also want to check the docs here for any known issues with vBulletin conversion.
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available! There is a known issue with bbPress Moderation plugin.
I raised the issue of bbPress 2.3 compatibility with the plugin author ~2 months ago and for now I suggest you disable this plugin until the author updates the plugin.
In reply to: bbPress 2.3 now available!Congrats and Thanks to all who helped get bbPress 2.3 out the door… Yay ๐
In reply to: importing from local mdb – what settings pleaseAgain, thanks for writing that post. ๐
I have a newer version of the ‘example’ converter that includes much greater inline documentation and ‘best practices’ based on all the other importers and it is now just a matter of updating the docs to match this and including it with a future release of bbPress.
We would be more than happy to include the Snitz Forums converter with bbPress. Just create a ticket and upload it to https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/
In reply to: Documented import from snitz access databaseMany thanks for taking the time to write this and share with the community. ๐
I added a link to this post from https://codex.bbpress.org/import-forums/custom-import/
In reply to: Keep my WP theme, just upgrade bbpress themeThe bbPress theme/s you linked to are for the old bbPress 1.x.
If you are using bbPress 2.x plugin then bbPress will try to use as much of your default WordPress theme as it can. If you want to customize bbPress 2.x then follow the links from here to get started https://bbpress.org/themes/
In reply to: Problem with BBpress 2.2.4Apologies but your topic had been marked as spam but I also can no longer find anything at the domain mentioned above.
