dittos… I know almost nothing about building websites but I stepped out in faith and bought space from siteground and they downloaded bbpress for me (free) and with the help of a few members here I have pennyforums.com up and running. buddha trance even told me which file to “play” with to widen my forum which I did (I first totally ruined the file and had to overwrite it ). chrishager even took the time to tell me how to unzip a compressed file (I know that’s kindergarten stuff but heh!) I’ve had nobody belittle me for asking what is to most folks here “dumb questions” and I want y’all to know :

I installed TOS in 1.02 and it works even though it says up to .09 except I don’t
see any way to edit….so I have an empty TOS box…there’s a simple fix I expect
I did this (with shaky nervous fingers) and taa daa!!! it worked. They can still click on “hot tags” and create a new topic but that’s okay…they don’t see it EVERT time now. Thanks again….
I have downloaded this plugin and it shows up like it should for new folks registering.
I don’t know how/where to type in my “terms of use” so that they show up.
I’m new to this but did a few “tweaks” successfully to my amazement!
I just downloaded and activated this plugin…
Where is the control for limiting topics? I don’t know where it is.
(I have 1.0 may be the problem since it says .09)

On this forum were on now…you go to a topic and it has a reply box at the bottom. On my board when you click on a topic it shows a box to start a new topic? I tried playing around with the sub categories but then replies can’t be added ro posts there…I don’t know the answer. pennyforums.com
If you found out how to do this ….I’d love to know the answer. I’m trying to set up a penny stock board but having mostly new topics will not work.

It’s the Avatars file that I tried…I believe your right about not having the right software to decompress the file. I know Vista can unzip files but I haven’t figured out how so I’m going to filehippo.com and download a zip file program. I’m going to wait a day or so and see what else gets added to this topic first. The Avatar plugin does in end .zip

I’m also wanting to add a stock market theme when I find one and the TOU plugin…after I get the feel for bbpress I hope to make a good bulletin board forum for penny stock traders…Thanks !
