In reply to: Admin Link Won't Do Anything…
Sometimes when you integrate bbPress with WordPress, you can lose Keymaster access (even if you’re signed into one or both of the software systems, as Chris mentioned above).
If that’s what happened, this plugin should help restore access!
Try this plugin to restore access?

Good luck!
In reply to: How do I uninstall and start from scratch?Unfortunately, to uninstall you have to drop some tables from your database as well as removing the files.
It might be easier to go back to the other thread, and pursue that path?
In reply to: How do I uninstall and start from scratch?Do you know how to drop tables using phpMyAdmin?
In reply to: Can I move bbPress to a different directory?Try turning permalinks off and seeing if that helps… if so, it’s probabaly a rewrite/htaccess issue.
In reply to: Can I move bbPress to a different directory? In reply to: NavigationAh got it. The checkboxes are a way for you to tell bbPress which stats to recount… once the recount is done, all checkboes are unchecked – so you can specify once again which stats you’d like to be counted next time.
If you have any more questions, please create a new thread and we’ll try to help you out there!
In reply to: Topic iconThis lets you apply css to unread threads… it might do the trick?
In reply to: NavigationGlad it worked out.
That plugin was by _ck_, so you might want to send her a donation if you have the funds.
I’m not following your question about checkboxes and Tools/Options?
In reply to: NavigationI had this *exact* same problem, so I’m surprised to hear the plugin didn’t fix it!
After you activated the plugin, did you get a chance to make the following changes from the installation guide?
* ‘If you’d like to add pagination (page numbers) on the front page, simply add to your front-page.php template <div class=”nav”><?php front_page_pages(); ?></div> AFTER <?php endforeach; endif; // $topics ?> </table>’
* ‘If you use rewrite slugs you MUST add the following rule to your .htaccess file RewriteRule ^page/([0-9]+)/?$ /forums/?page=$1 [L,QSA] anywhere before </IfModule> where /forums/ is the path to your bbpress install.’

In reply to: plugin: single posts rating?I haven’t seen any plugins like that.
bbPress isn’t super great at storing metadata for post-level data… although you could probably commission a custom plugin that did just that.
It’s definitely possible – it’s just not super easy. It’d probably be easier to do for version 1+, since that version has a meta table built into the core…
In reply to: NavigationAre you using the frontpage topics plugin?
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/front-page-topics/
The plugin used to have the exact problem you mentioned, but the latest version of the plugin fixed it right up!
In reply to: Information on bbPress XML-RPC APIThere’s no official docs… so this is as good as we’ve got here:
In reply to: How do I move a topic to another forumOh no… please don’t test it unless you are on 0.8.x!!
It’s definitely not recommended for 0.9 or 1.0… I just linked to it so you could check out the code, in the event that you were interested in adapting it to support more recent bbPress versions!
In reply to: customize each forum individuallyI haven’t used this personally so I’m not sure if it would work for you… but this is the closest plugin I can think of!
In reply to: Custom Pagination Per PageI think this plugin may do the trick?
In reply to: Need poll for version 1.02 now!If you want broad plugin support, there are only three options that I’m aware of.
* Identify which plugins you’d like, and update them to work with v 1.0+ (either try to fix it yourself, or pay the plugin developer to fix it, or maybe hire someone else).
* Wait 3-6 months, and hope the plugin developers update their plugins as 1.0 gets more users.
* Downgrade to 0.9
In reply to: Editing Post Date on Edit Post Page_ck_ released an “Edit Post Attributes” plugin which should do the trick for ya:
In reply to: my users do not receive the passwordIf you’re using 1.0+, try this plugin:
In reply to: my users do not receive the passwordI used to have this problem… you can fix your server, but some email addresses will never get the email even if things are setup on your end.
So I started using this plugin:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/instant-password/
And emails stopped being a problem! Maybe worth checking out?
Here’s the official protocol for hiring contractors:
The policy here is to close topics after you request someone for hire and post your contact info. You can also see my topic here for people advertising:

Good luck!

In reply to: list of plugins used at wordpress.org forums??They use the Support Forum plugin:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/support-forum/
Also, Akismet and possibly Bozo.
I don’t think they’re using many more plugins though? It looks like a pretty bare bones install, at least at first glance.
In reply to: Members OnlyI used the Private Forums plugin for a year or so… it would randomly turn all my private posts public!
Then I checked the comments on that plugin, and a number of other users had reported something similar:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/private-forums/page/4/#post-1621
I don’t recommend using Private Forums for that reason… especially since Hidden Forums does the same thing. I’ve been using that for a year or two now, and have never had any problems.
