In reply to: bbPress 2.0 – Updates
Also added Akismet integration to Beta 3. If you have the Akismet plugin for WordPress installed, bbPress 2.0 will now just piggy-back it, and work without any additional config.
I was just going to ask about how soon that Akismet integration would be happening. This is wonderful news. Thanks JJJ for all your hard work.
In reply to: Am I missing something?Genen, If I were you I would go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus and create a menu option for your forum page. Then go to the Widget area and install the Menu widget. Some themes have a navigation bar area in the Menu setting and that is where the link to the forum really should go. It looks like your theme doesn’t have that so you’re going to be stuck with the Menu widget which will put your forum links over to the side, but it’s better than nothing.
Thank you for providing a link to the fix, JJJ – I downloaded it and uploaded it in FTP, held my breath, and it worked.
In reply to: WPMimic V.1@limited I liked your WPmimic bbpress theme and would go back if there was a WP theme for it. Basically what I really want is for the blog styling to look just like the forum styling.

In reply to: bbpress plugin 2 beta 1Currently there is no widget for signup, but you can make a page and use the “bbPress – User Registrer” template.
Where do I find the “bbpress – User Register” template?

In reply to: A plugin for the plugin – which folder?OK, never mind, I did some more reading about the plugin. Hadn’t realized there were no plugins for it yet, which I guess makes sense.

In reply to: New bbP plugin install, users cannot create topicsHey, thanks for the zip link!!! I tried out both the bbp v.3147 and bbp v. 3153 on wp v.3.12 and was able to reproduce the same error in which the logged-in user could not create a new topic. Have not dl’d the wp 3.2b1 (thanks for that link, too) yet though but am guessing it will work fine.

In reply to: New bbP plugin install, users cannot create topicsOh, I see…I’m in way over my head, tooltrainer. Did you mean the one from SVN trunk? I tried to install it and got an error, saying it was searching for a file in a directory (/backpress) that did not exist.

In reply to: New bbP plugin install, users cannot create topicsI tried to help you out by going to my own WP install and attempted to use the plugin and got an error “The plugin does not have a valid header.” which, when researched, the answers say that the bbpress plugin is not actually a plugin, so color me confused! What step did you use to incorporate your bbpress with your WP?
