This was not actually true… Seems I only needed to remove the trailing slash on my bbpress URL and voila! It works fine.

This, however, is still true. Has anyone else encountered this trouble?
Trying to determine if it’s a plugin in need of update, or if it’s an error on my part, or an actual issue in RC3

Good point, I checked, and it does. Also, it is the same as the one’s I’ve pasted into the bb config as well.
I installed bbpress before this was a feature.
I wonder if I need to add this manually to the database?
ok, so I watched the screencast again and I learned something about the “secure auth salt”
I learned that it’s only for people doing ssl instalations, which I am not, and it’s actually ok to leave it blank. So it’s good to know this is not actually the problem.
Is there a tutorial anywhere for existing installations of WP and BBP and how to integrate them retroactively?
OR is it a better idea to backup the data, and undertake the mess of reinstalling and restoring the posts in both applications?

In my wp-config I have the Secure Auth Key but in the WordPress options.php there’s no “secure auth salt” so i have no idea how to find this and use it for integration.
This plug has been causing trouble lately. When it’s installed, when the existing cookie expires, no one can log in at all. I have to go deactivate it in order to allow people to log in again.
Is there an update for the most recent versions?

Problem solved.
Turns out that I overlooked the part of the integration documentation which advises users to add the path to wp-blog-header.php
In the upgrade, a new config.php is created, and naturally one needs to add this path again to the new document for them to work.
Once you do it… it works! Yaaay.
Have you got any plugins running?
I had this error, and removed all my plugins. Error gone.
I began adding them back one by one until I found a few which were causing problems.
Sadly, the wordpress integration plugs were what was giving me this specific error, but admin can post anything, and a couple others were causing problems, so they’re gone now and my forum works fine.
Just a thought.
I do have it installed on the WordPress side of the site.
Ok, I’ve disabled it.
Let’s see what happens now!
