    Ditto that. The first IRC meetup focused on getting people on the “documentation team”, so Matt obviously saw the need.

    You could probably use the Hidden Forums plugin:

    What is a subforum? bbPress has forums as categories, where the parent is a category and cannot accept post, and can have just child forums. Is that sufficient?

    It cannot be managed from the backend of WordPress – they’re separate pieces of software.

    I’m going to close this topic. If you have something to say to _ck_ please contact her directly. Talking about her here does not help. She was not an employee but a volunteer and she has the right to do whatever she wants.

    You have to log in there with a wordpress.org account, then you have some additional options. I’m not certain I see a way to create an account there, so create one at wordpress.org and then click “login” https://trac.bbpress.org/login – once that’s done, you will have the option to create a new ticket https://trac.bbpress.org/newticket

    I wouldn’t say Thesis Theme and DIY Themes “don’t have any issues”:

    I’m not here to defend or even discuss the GPL or Automattic or Thesis theme. Just asking what license it is. I have no problem paying for someone’s hard work. I’m continually amazed at the amount of work people give away for free with regard to bbPress and WordPress.

    Steven, here is the exact way to do it if you still need help:

    <?php include("/www/yoursite/forum/my-templates/your-template/sidebar.php");?>

    Then the file you are including just goes in sidebar.php in your template folder. Write the sidebar once, use it anywhere.

    You can do it with PHP. Here’s one example how:

    There’s no plugin yet for bbPress as far as I know.

    They are marked with a deleted status but not truly deleted. If you want to delete them forever, you want to do something like this:

    If you feel this is a problem with the bbPress core, please open a ticket at trac so the problem can be fixed.

    https://trac.bbpress.org/

    You can log in there with your wordpress.org login, or get one from wordpress.org if you need one.

    I have no problem paying for themes (well, if it’s a GPL theme, you’re not really paying for the “theme” per se), although I don’t think I will for bbPress. @arpowers, what license is the theme offered under?

    Can you reply when using the default theme? If you can, then the problem is with your theme.

    Also, are you integrated with WordPress? If so, what version of each did you install?

    And finally, what plugins are you using? Maybe one of them is causing this.

    Got it – thanks gerikg.

    @chrishajer

    gerikg, # 1 is a deal killer for me: you cannot use www for your WordPress and bbPress installation? Why is that? Problems with cookie integration? Just curious. Thanks

    @chrishajer

    Participant

    Thanks for posting that. I cannot imagine anyone who wants integration to jump through these hoops to get it to work. If someone can confirm that these steps work, maybe we can get the documentation updated here.

    @chrishajer

    Participant

    gerikg – please post what you find. Maybe it’s a simple mistake that everyone is making, or you can show how the integration documentation needs to be updated to make this easier for everyone.

    I know it’s sometimes easier to just go and fix stuff yourself instead of going back and forth in a forum trying to figure out what’s wrong, but I really do hope someone posts a procedure for integrating logins that will work for everyone. alpacino85 did what I think most reasonable people would do: download the most recent version of both software packages and then follow the latest integration instructions (even though they’re out of date), but that doesn’t seem to work. Lots of people have the same exact issue (logging into WordPress logs you our of bbPress or vice versa) so I hope there’s on little “gotcha” or “ah ha” that can be posted to take care of this for most people. Thanks.

    I wish I knew the answer. This is quickly becoming the most common integration question on the forums. Hopefully someone will post the definitive solution.

    If you have access to your config file with the database connection details, and the database details are in there, you can access the database from your server. If you don’t have access to the database connection details, then you won’t be able to access the database with phpMyAdmin.

    If you have a way to access an RSS feed of the posts, you will be able to get some of the data not all of it.

    If it’s really important to you, you might want to get the help from a provider who can help you think this through. Maybe you need to mirror the whole site and parse out the content you need or something like that.

    2. Does this problem occur when you use a stock theme like Kakumei?

    And your integration is not correct if when you log in to WordPress you get logged out of bbPress.

    buddha trance, works perfectly in 1.0.2.

    Using 0.9.0.4, it gives me the top half of the page and no more. These are the last two things in the rendered page:
