WordPress 2.3 is now available.
I mention that because the current version of bbPress (version 0.8.2) is not compatible with WordPress 2.3 if you are loading both scripts at the same time. If you’re not loading both scripts at the same time, everything is fine.
A new version of bbPress will be coming out in a day or two as soon as we get done testing it, and that version will fully compatible with the latest version of WordPress once again.
One question before I destroy my bbPress installation with a WP upgrade – I assume that this is only valid when I run bbPress intergated with WP by using some plugins?
On my host bbPress & WP are sharing the same Mysql DB, but as they are not integrated with each other this should not do any harm to me, right?
I am just not sure what “loading both scripts at the same time” means…

if in your bbPress’ config.php file you explicitly load WordPress like:
include( '../wp-blog-header.php' )orrequire( '../wp-config.php' )(just some examples of what might be there), then you will have problems.Or if you load bbPress from WordPress’ wp-config.php like
require( 'path-to/bb-load.php' ), you will also have problems.If the only integration you have set up is database integration (this is the probably the most common set up), you will be fine.
It sounds to me like you have no integration at all set up. If that’s the case, you will be fine.
