Available immediately is bbPress 2.0 RC 4. Thanks to an enormous amount of feedback during the Beta period, we’ve put out a few unadvertised release candidates to tighten integration with Multisite, BuddyPress, and Akismet.
This is still pre-release software, but we think it’s polished and shiny enough to use on a live site. If you’re a developer or site administrator, please report any bugs you find as they are critical at this stage in development.
Check it out and let us know what you think in the support forums!
Here are some of the important changes:
- BuddyPress 1.5 activity streams and @mention integration
- Improved Akismet integration
- Improved update process
- Improved importer
- Improved multisite integration
- Improved spam/deleted user handling
- Added blacklist_keys support
- Added actions to topic/reply forms
- * Updated green admin color scheme for WordPress 3.2
* Bet you didn’t know this was there, did ya?
After updating I get an error in topic description and reply boxes:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_get_members_root_slug() in /home/noortekl/public_html/test/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-includes/bbp-extend-buddypress.php on line 203
You’ll need to be running the latest beta of BuddyPress too. Sorry about that.
I’ve added an additional check for this which will be in the final release.
I have BuddyPress 1.2.9. I didn’t find where to get the latest beta?
You should be able to grab 1.5 beta 3 here: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/5070/tags/1.5-beta-3?old_path=%2F&format=zip
@matu, you can get the latest BuddyPress beta here:

[…] Jacoby has been a busy guy today. After the BuddyPress beta announcement earlier he published the announcement that bbPress RC 4 is now available. Why RC 4 already? According to Jacoby the last few release […]
@JJJ
Any chance the official bbPress forum will be update to 2.0 PRIOR to final release?
That way, we all can more properly test the rewrite code.
Can you elaborate on the “BuddyPress 1.5 activity streams and @mention integration”.
How does the integration with BuddyPress 1.5 and bbPress 2.0 RC4 work?
I second Frank’s question. Are the @mentions going to notify the mentioned user? Otherwise I don’t know why they would be useful.
Bug: When I go to my forum homepage, it only allows me to add a topic to the most recently create forum and does not list the topics in any forum. The breadcrumb shows that I am in a forum/category despite being on the forum home page.
Adding to what I said about @mentions, it would be fantastic if you could choose to have @mentions show up under the mentioned users last post in that thread. If nothing else, a notification should be sent to the mentioned user.
Hello! I installed this plugin, and everything seems to be working fine. I do however have somethings to say:
1. There should be some more settings which you can edit. It seems like there is just not enough settings for the back-end user, like the super admin for example.
2. The forum link should show on the menu.
Thanks,
Klajdi Hena
Wondering at what stage will bp and bbp get full integration?
Will it be in the final release of bp1.5/bbp2.0 or a later bp1.5.x/bbp2.0.x or even at bp1.6/bbp2.x?
