Theme Compatibility?

Published on May 21st, 2016 by guy_cox

I get this error when I try to view new forum pages…

Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Post’ not found in /home/xxxxxxxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/includes/core/theme-compat.php on line 375

Do I need to change theme or settings?

Many thanks for any help –

bbPress not on dashboard

Published on May 21st, 2016 by dinowong

Two weeks ago I installed bbPress, there was the “forum” tag in the admin dashboard. I uninstalled it soon after I installed as I did not have any use back then.

But today when I reinstalled a few times, the “forum” tag did not appear at admin dashboard. Neither did the introduction page of bbPress that has the “go to settings” link appeared.

I tried on my other website and it has no problem. Please advice how to get the normal installation running.

Both are running on the latest wordpress.org version.

Participant can;t see any topics anymore

Published on May 20th, 2016 by GreenbankAdmin

I recently went through our forum and removed all the old and non required topics but after I did that the counters on the forums were all wrong. I went tot he recount feature until the tools section and rant he options to recounts and recalculate each forum and topic which all worked fine.

Now when anyone who is a participant (which is everyone except the admin on my site) tried to view the forums, they get no topics returned. When I login as admin I can see them all. I have changed everyone to be KeyMaster and now they can see them again.

Any idea what might have happened ? I’ve checked permissions and can see Participant is in there as can view, as is subscriber. Using BBPress 2.5.9 and WordPress 4.5.2 BBPress was installed well over a year ago and has been upgraded with each update when the plugins page tells me to.

website is www.greenbankarchers.com but forum is a private members only area behind wordpress.

Remove “Topics”, “Posts”, & re-name “Freshness”

Published on May 20th, 2016 by semperaye

Hello,

I have followed the directions found here:

http://www.itsupportforum.net/topic/how-to-change-the-freshness-date-time-to-the-name-of-the-last-topic-in-bbpress/ to change the “freshness” from a date, to a topic title. I am happy with this, BUT… I am still having two issues.

1.) The freshness is still showing after the topic title example “1 month ago ____”
2.) The “Freshness title is still showing and I would like to re-name it to something else such as “Latest,” but instead re-name “Topics” to “Latest” to keep formatting correct.
3.) I would like to remove the remaining titles (such as “Posts,” & “Freshness”from the forum page as well, since they are not being used here.

If anyone could help me accomplish this I would be very thankful!

Example of our forum is here:

Thank you!

Edit Topic Doesn’t Save

Published on May 20th, 2016 by Andrew Tibbetts

I can create a topic fine ( and hook into bbp_new_topic ) but when I try to save changes to an existing topic ( change title, description, sticky, etc ) it doesn’t retain the changes ( and bbp_edit_topic never fires ). It redirects to the topic where bbp_template_notices spits out ERROR: Forum ID is missing. Anyone experience this / have any ideas what’s going on?

How to get ‘reply to’ information?

Published on May 20th, 2016 by Kineta

Can anyone tell me if there’s a way to get info on the post being replied to in a thread? I would like to put some indication in the header of a reply, like ‘Response to post #n’ or ‘Reply to autherX’. To make the thread easy to follow.

I haven’t been able to find a way to get the ‘reply to’ id or author.

Display Visual Editor Content Before Forum Starts

Published on May 20th, 2016 by brooklynbrookie

Hi,
I have a issue regarding the Visual Editor within the forum page. I would like the visual editor within the forum edit page to be enabled so that I can give a image/text introduction to the forum. I have tried to install suggested plugins like “TinyMCE Advanced” and others but none of them directly solve the problem I am having. Example of what I am looking for:

What I would like to be on the page:

WordPress: Version 4.5.2 running Untold Stories theme.
bbPress: Version 2.5.9

Undefined Variables

Published on May 19th, 2016 by WPnolanbretigne

I’m getting undefined variables when logged in as the administrator, especially when trying to create menus.

WP: 4.5.2 BBP: 2.5.9.6017 Theme: TwentySixteen OS: Centos 7

Some of the messages flash across the screen too fast for me to read them, but here’s one:
