Hi all i’m new to bbpress. I read lot of docs but i was unable to solve this issue
I’m setting up a forum for my website, i installed bbpress, created a forum, created a page with bbpres shortcode and now i’m able to see forum root clicking on the link in menu.
I can create discussions from backend but when i try to create a new topic from frontend, logged in as admin, i got “you don’t have permission to post”.
How could it be?
I was wondering if there was a setting that allowed moderators to post in closed forums? When admins log in to a closed forum they see this:
“This forum is marked as closed to new topics, however your posting capabilities still allow you to do so.”
I would like to extend this and only this to my moderators as well.
Thanx!
I want non-logged in users to be able to read the forum but not post to it.
I want them to become members to post to the forum. I am using buddypress and paid membership pro.
Does it default to this, or do I have to set this up? How?
Thanks.
How do I sort the order of the topics in the forum? Right now it is alphabetical. I want to rearrange it.
Thanks.
I have a question about permissions. I have a forum, general, that I do not want people to post to. But I do have two topics in the forum that I DO want people to post to. Basically I do not want them posting in the root of the forum just to the topics it contains.
So I set the permissions for the forum where nobody has permission to post there and by doing that they cannot post to the topics even though I selected discussion in the page settings.
Is there an easy way to accomplish this that I am just missing?
Thanks!
Jim
So I recently managed to get my forum to display just a list of topics on the main forums(/forums) page but how do I display reply count for each topic right beside it?
Hi, I’m pretty new to everything and I’ve been pretty much enjoying the first couple of days.
One thing that I’m trying to accomplish with bbpress is in the threaded replies section and its’ layout.
this is how a new topic currently looks – it keeps the author avatar separate from the content(this is mainly in order to maintain a decent readability-level on mobile devices)

The reply section also behaves the same until I enable threaded replies but
when threaded replies is enabled, it loses that layout(probably because of how my bbpress css is currently setup)

I would like some help to achieve the same ‘author-content-separated’ layout in the threaded replies.
I hope I have given enough detail for everyone to understand my situation 🙂
I’m currently using all the latest versions of everything.
My theme is twenty-fourteen and I am working with a child theme
Hi
In our forum: http://gameslopedy.com/forums
The category text sizes are so small, how can we increase them?
Hi there,
In Forum, when I click Submit multiple times together after typing my comment, it posts my comment multiple times. So it should be something Facebook that button will not take action till the message is posted.
I am using WP 4.6 with KLEO theme.
I have created this video to replicate the issue.

Hi,
We have made it so that all spambots who sign up to the bbp forum automatically get the role “no user role for this forum” (translated from German).
The thing is, when i go to my wordpress “user” settings, they are all under the “subscriber” role. As are all the real forum users.
I would like to have an option at the top to select just the “no role” users, so that i can bulk delete them all.
How do i do this?
thx.
btw, i dont want to install a wp-admin hide plugin as these have conflicted with our theme, and therefore i have to deactivate them.
