Hi, I am using bbPress 2.5 here: https://discusspf.com/community/
My problem is occurring as follows: I have the forum set up so it displays the recent topics as a shortcode on a page for the forum. This works fine for me (keymaster) and displays a create topic box at the bottom of the forum. However, for normal users it displays that they cannot create topics on the forum index, but when they navigate to a particular forum area they are able to create topics then. What is causing this issue and how might I fix it?

This is the error that everyone but the admin in is receiving when they try to post or reply to any post. I have spent countless hours trying to fix this.
I have turned every plugin off and it is still occurring so it has nothing to do with a plugin conflict. Can someone help, please?

I recently imported a huge SMF into bbpress 2.6 RC 5.
It was faster than 2.5.x and even 2.6 beta .
Now i am facing a huge issue of misplacement of replies and users wrongly linked to replies. I am trying to run Recalculate position of each reply in each topic since past few hours and all i get is following error mesaged Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 73400320) (tried to allocate 200704 bytes)
I have edited the PHP.in and put in highest values i could think of .
Can someone please help me here
@stephen_edgar says if it timesout and we re-run it , it starts from the index wher it had stopped. Is it so ?

I have topics setup so that most recent replies appear at the top. I am having 2 problems with this in the case that the topic has multiple pages of replies.
1st, after someone replies, it sends them to last page of replies which is the oldest reply. I’d like them to be directed to 1st page of topic.
2nd, if someone clicks on bbp-topic-freshness-link from the forum page, it again, direct them to the last page of replies. Since I have newest replies in reverse order, this doesn’t make sense.
Is there something I can do in these 2 cases to have users land on the 1st page of replies?

I have an issue where only the first forum page will load. If I click to go to the 2nd page, it’ll just go to a blank page with just the header. The permalinks are fine. Anyone encountered this before?
I know that there are plugins which will allow certain replies to be marked private and made viewable only to the original poster and admin, but is there a way in which this can apply to an entire thread?
Can a user start a thread and make the entire thread private to them and admin only? It’s for a help-desk scenario.

We are looking to modify BBpress meaning:
– remove the possibility for anonymous users posting answers to questions.
– remove BBpress notices like ”You can publish HTML content” or ”You can use BBCodes to format your content”.
– remove the website field request when asking a question, along subject type and question status.
– add a name for the description field regarding the title of the subject.
– customize the right sidebar to include: add a question, search and categories of the forum.
We are using bbpress 2.5.14 and wordpress 4.7.9. Any help will be much appreciated.

I would like to know how I could automatically tag or mark topics, if a moderator has been part of the discussion. In this case I would like to display the role name next to the topic title in the archive-topic and the single-forum pages. Is there a function that could help me with that?

I am unable to have access to the “Name” field in the Profile editor. Even as an Admin, I can’t change my displayname/profile name.
The only way I can is to go into
Inspect Element>Rightclick
Find and click “<fieldset class=”bbp-form” style=”display: none;”>
<legend>Name</legend>” tag in the page.
Edit the “element.style” from “display:none;” to “display:block;”.
Unfortunately this element has a “Display:none” embedded into the code that I can’t seem to find anywhere else in the back end to manually force it to display.
If anybody could help me I would be very grateful.

I would like links in forum posts to automatically show associated cards or image previews if available, as in Facebook or Twitter. I tried the Content Cards plugin but it doesn’t seem to work and I’m not sure if that is what I’m looking for.
Can anyone suggest a plugin lease?
