Hello, I need to be able to approve topics and responses automatically for the Participant role. I tried to look for plugins, but they are all years without updates. I’ve also tried wordpress plugins for roles and even though they seem to have capabilities set up well (publish_topics, edit_topics, publish_replies, edit_replies). So it always requires approval when I publish. When I add a topic as an unsigned user it works fine. Is there a simple snippet that can do that?
I read through the posts here, but they didn’t help me.

I am stuck with an issue in my Forums. This is a fresh install and I have attempted deactivating the few plugins I have and different themes but I am unable to edit, or move posts. When I click the action I get a 404 page. Ive tried changing the permalink structure but no luck. Any ideas please?

I tried finding a solution to this problem on your forum for sometime now with no avail.
1)Whenever I click the nested reply button in a forum topic, the page reloads/refreshes. Also, the reply which gets posted is not always a nested a nested reply.
2) Even while trying to reply to the comment of a particular user, the reply box comes at the end of the thread/page/topic. It’d be good to have the reply box come under the response to which I am trying to post a nested reply to.
I hope you guys understand my question. Desperately looking for answers. Btw, I am noob in coding so conceptwise I dunno anything.

Is is possible to display the word “forum” if the page is a forum, or the word “Topic” if it is a post etc? At the moment, my header displays the forum title and thread title, but it doesn’t say if it is a forum or post.

I run a small private forum for a group of friends around the world.
We like to post most days about every so often we write a long post and hit submit only to lose the entire thing as the page reverts to the login page.
For example today, I logged into my laptop, went to teh forum tab on Chrome and read the others posts from overnight (so yes, the page was reloaded). I then started writing my own post, got sidetrackd for a few hours, came back & finished post and hit SUBMIT and lost the lot.
HOW can I set our logins to never expire?
Does it have to do with WP user type (we use ‘contributor’ in WP, and ‘participant’ in BBPress).

Is there a shortcode that displays a list with links to all forums?
Also, is there a shortcode that will display the number of threads? I’m wanting to create a list of links to my forums and also display the number of threads/posts next to each link.
