Sorry for posting it this way, butI’mkind of lost and need help finding my way though some of this. If you have a reasonable fee, I am willing to pay you to help me get my bbpress fixed the way I want it and correctly integrated with my wordpress. I have managed to get my theme customized, but I don’t speak php and am having SERIOUS trouble with a number of things (ie Avatar Upload and others) that you have managed to incorporate into your bbpress forums.

I have tried a variety of codes that have been offered up in these forums in an attempt to hide subforums on my main page because one of my parent forums is dog breeds~~~ can you imagine how HUGE my front page will beonce I add in all of my subforums?

All of my attempts to utilize code offered in the forums has failed. One piece looked likeit MIGHT do what I wanted, but I could never figure out where to paste it!

Please forgive me for my lack of knowledge ~~~ I am learning as I go.

I have pasted my code for my front-page.php into the paste bin. If you could look at it and give me a clue, I’d appreciate it!!!

Hi there, (not sure if this is an appropriate place to post this.)

We’re looking for someone to hire to help us fix some bugs on our WordPress/Bbpress integrated site. Here are some of the bugs:

1- user profile pics missing from blog comments

2- Backslashes appear in blog comments

3- Backslashes appear if you modify any php files via the wordpress interface.

4- User names with apostrophes, accents or usual characters display oddly

5- Cant modfiy the way a author or user name displays

6- private messaging is disabled

7- users can’t modify profile pictures.

the integration instructions seem very flippant. it’s like, “ok – if you have a few days to waste, here are some ways you can try to integrate wordpress and bbpress – and who knows? – you might even get lucky and it might work.”

for that, i can just try to integrate any of the other forum packages.

Pleas Hellp Me …

I’ve noticed a few new users are turned off by their first experience with a bbPress install because the think it’s so devoid of features and don’t understand it’s potential. They don’t want to be bothered to hunt for plugins to add features, some of which are no longer maintained and don’t work (or worse they break the install).

How about in addition to the standard download version, a “plus” version could be offered with a few bundled plugins, hand selected for stability and common feature requests? They could auto-activate after a proper install finishes. A clear notice could be made that Automattic is not responsible for the plugins and how to deactivate them.

A place to discuss VOIP, Telecommunications, and *hopefully* a place to help one another.

When an anonymous user posts, the username “anonymous” appears in the forum, but it is not in the actual database where the other usernames appear in the field topic_poster_name

anyone else have this problem? how do you fix it?
