Ups! I change the URL of the forum in the ‘Setting’ page

Published on January 6th, 2009 by nextical

Well.. at the moment, I’m thinking why there isn’t any link to my WordPress ‘Index/Home’ site.. there only link to my bbpress home. So, I was just trying to make a link to my WP Home by changing the URL of the forum in the Setting page.

From ‘www.ins-ide.org/forum’ being ‘www.ins-ide.org’

but suddenly all the link missing the target because of the missing path. “/forum” in the URL.

Well I got Back.. and change the URL again.. but it still doesn’t work.

The only option I think about is changing the URL line by FTP/Cpanel. But again, I don’t know what file I need to access.

Anyone can help me?

Hi Guys!

My first question today, is this statement a legal requirement, or can it be removed while customising your forum?

Changing topic_poster_name field in database

Published on January 5th, 2009 by ganzua

Hi!

I want to change the name of the user that started a topic.

I went to bb_topics table through phpmyadmin and there, I changed topic_poster_name field. However, when you go to the forums, the topic author appears as “anonymous”.

Do I need to change any other field in bbpress database? or maybe this has anything to do with the role assingment issue?

These are the errors I got when trying to integrate the two:

SQL ERROR!

>>> Database: username (localhost)

>>>>>> ALTER TABLE wp_posts ADD COLUMN post_id bigint(20) NOT NULL auto_increment;

>>>>>> Incorrect table definition; there can be only one auto column and it must be defined as a key

SQL ERROR!

>>> Database: database (localhost)

>>>>>> ALTER TABLE wp_posts ADD PRIMARY KEY (post_id);

>>>>>> Key column ‘post_id’ doesn’t exist in table

and the nonce key is missing in bbconfig

moderators able to ban?

Published on January 5th, 2009 by deadlyhifi

I’m running 0.9.0.3 (upgrading tonight to .4)

anyway, my moderators aren’t able to ban users, or turn them into bozos. The ‘Edit’ link within that users profile page is not there. It is for administrators and key masters.

Is this correct? I would like my mods to have these powers.

PHP usage poll

Published on January 5th, 2009 by Sam Bauers

This poll is intended to gauge usage levels of older versions of PHP, with a view to maybe bumping the lowest supported version in bbPress up to PHP 4.4.9 (from PHP 4.3.0).

The two options below are the latest stable versions of PHP 4 and 5. If you are using another version, please be specific when entering it’s version number.
