Should I install bbpress in the same directory as wordpress (I’m planning to integrate them somewhat). Or does it matter at all?

Move Post to Other Forum
Published on May 1st, 2009 byHi All,
I am running bbPress “Brubeck” version 0.9.0.4. However, it seems like bbpress does not have a built-in function to move posts from one forum to another forum. This seems like such a basic necessity for a forum platform to have. Does anyone know of a plugin that can accomplish this and will work with bbpress version 0.9.0.4?
Thannk you,

Error when activating plugins
Published on April 30th, 2009 by barronHi all,
I am trying to get plugins to work but I keep getting this error when I try to activate them:
Warning: file(user) [function.file]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /urlhere/forums/bb-admin/admin-functions.php on line 850
Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in /urlhere/forums/bb-admin/admin-functions.php on line 850
(urlhere is the path). This happens with the pre-installed plugins and any other ones that I am trying to activate. Can anyone help? Thanks!
Domain transfer fails
Published on April 30th, 2009 byHey all,
I tried to pull down the files from one domain, as well as the database, and upload to another. I have changed all url references to the old domain in the files and in the database. For some reason the site pulls the information from the database, but it does not have a theme applied to it. I also can not log-in to the admin. It just loops back to the homepage and doesn’t log me in. Can someone help please?

Why is phpBB better than bbPress?
Published on April 30th, 2009 by Ben L.Now, before you say “it isn’t”, I’m not looking at the forum software as a whole. My plan is to make all of the important features of phpBB available to bbPress users.
So far I can think of a few things:
- The Cash Mod – I accepted this project over a year ago and I still haven’t released the first version.
- A private messaging feature that doesn’t have 24512 security vulnerabilities
- A full role manager
What are the benefits to using bbpress over other software?
Published on April 29th, 2009 by AnointedTo preface, I know nothing about bbpress other than it’s installed with my new buddypress setup.
I have run vbulletin on numerous websites for years now so that is what i am familiar with.
As my ultimate plans include using wordpressmu/buddypress/forums, can someone let me know why I should consider using bbpress?
Are there features that it has that other software does not provide?
Please, I am not being antagonistic here, it’s a real question.
so far my vbulletin setup has the following:
1. completely bridged to wordpressmu so that all registration/logins/sessions etc are controlled by vbulletin for the entire system. Meaning you login to vb, you are logged into wp automatically etc..
2. vbulletin uses wordpress theme header/footer etc. It’s not static, meaning that if the header in wp changes it auto changes in vb, and NO, I am not using iframes, that’d be just plain stupid.
thanks for any info provided.
