call for testers on the 0.9 branch and 1.0 trunk

Published on August 12th, 2009 by _ck_

Some bug fixes and additional features have been added to 0.9 branch and 1.0 trunk

For those that know how to download them off svn/trac and read the changes on trac, we’d appreciate some testing before a wide release tomorrow.

Notable on the 0.9 are my fast recount functions that will really help large sites, be sure to backup your db “just in case”.

Can I use the forum as a page in WordPress?

Published on August 11th, 2009 by Marius-

Is this possible? Lets say I have a link to the forum, and it loads like a normal page?

I have quite good space for pages and posts in my blog (580 px wide), and I think it would be nice if I could load the forum inside the main site.

In that case – Is there a way to get rid of the top menu like you guys have on this site?

WordPressMU + BBPress Theme

Published on August 11th, 2009 by gerikg

I’m trying to integrate the themes together, like I did before but now the same things I used to do doesn’t work.

I used

if (file_exists(‘../wp-blog-header.php’))

require_once(‘../wp-blog-header.php’);

in bb-config.php

but when I insert that the frontpage disappears (blank screen).

Anyone run into this?

Can't find the post-background hovercolor in the CSS

Published on August 11th, 2009 by Marius-

Where is that?

I’m customising my own theme here, and when you roll over posts, you get a green background. Firebug doesn’t find it, neither do I. What do I do?

Disclaimer for all

Published on August 11th, 2009 by costyn1

Good evening and excuse me for my bad English.

I need to put a disclaimer in my phpbb forum.

My site is about tobacco product.

I wanna display a disclaimer that sais that the site is only for ADULT SMOKERS.

I tried the plugin “Term-of-service” but it displays the disclaimer only when the user is registering.

I want that the forum is visible to registered and unregisterd user, but I need to display a message the first time the user browses my site.

I hope it’s clear.

Any idea?

Where to put themes

Published on August 11th, 2009 by mattlay

I know this is ridiculously remedial but I read not to put them in bb-templates and was curious if I need to make a new folder inside an existing one and call it themes or what the best way to do this in 1.0.2 is?

Thank you.

Complete step 3 – but still getting the install.php page!

Published on August 11th, 2009 by natasheebear

Hi, I completed up to step 3 (named the site Steeplechase Homeowner’s Association & specified first user and forum). However, now when I go to http://steeplechasega.info/bbpress/, I get the installer again – as if I didn’t setup anything.

This is frustrating because I should be getting the admin page, correct?

I tried to deleting the three install files in the admin directory remotely, but that seemed like a bad idea, so I re-upped them.

I can’t figure out what’s going wrong. Should I do something to my database? Should I be accessing a different directory for my admin screen?

And it doesn’t help that the installer screen is not allowing me to proceed from step 1 to step 2 and so on.

Someone please help me.

Cannot get past Install Step 1.

Reference URL: http://steeplechasega.info/bbpress/

I decompressed the bbPress files and uploaded them to my server. I created a database named bikerpro inside my hosting account. I entered in all of the information into the first install screen and now receive the following message:

A valid configuration file was found at bb-config.php

You may continue to the next step.

However, when I attempt to continue to step 2, I end up back on the first page. Once it allowed me into step 2, but when attempted to skip ahead to step 3, I ended up back up on the first step again.

Please halp!
