Me and my friends have a PhpBB2 forum hosted by a free forum hosting provider ( xooit.com ), but I’m planning to switch to BBPress on our own hosting space with LaTeX support ( which is important for a Physics/Maths forum ) .
The only problem is that xooit.com doesn’t give database access, so I can’t do a SQL backup …
Lets say I can manage to get the RSS2 feed of the forum ( I don’t know how, but lets suppose I can ), will bbPress be able to import the posts from that RSS2 feed ?

I hope someone can guide me or point me in the right direction here. In various attempts to understand how the bbPress plugin system works, I am trying to convert a few WordPress plugins into bbPress ones.
I’m starting off with “WP-Cumulus” as well as “Let It Snow”. I’m not sure, however, what to look out for. For example, what are the differences between WP and bbPress when it comes to adding extra admin and profile info.
What things should I look for while I go about doing this?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

In class.passwordhash.php there is base64 encrypting and all passwords begin by ‘$P$’…

Maybe it is a stupid question/idea
but is there a page that would list plugins /extensions to bbpress by version?
at the moment it is hit & miss If there was an index by version I imagine it would make life easier to all of us
