suggestion: FAQ section in forum

Published on October 27th, 2010 by ortixia

As the documentation for bb press is not fully developed, I am finding people are asking some of the same questions over and over again. (need themes.. when the new bbpress plugin coming.. permalinks).

The forum for my favourite wp theme has recently done some thing pretty cool: http://forum.bytesforall.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1

They have added an FAQ section to their forum, so that these common questions are addressed quickly.

Either that or maybe make these issues sticky.

annoying strange themes iteractions…

hello,

just did the bbpress integration in my wordpress designthemedia.com

when I check http://designthemedia.com all is ok!

when I check http://designthemedia.com/forum … even the basic css of my wordpress is killed.

I copied the style.css of the bbpress theme into the root of my wordpress and I made an @import from the css of my wordpress.

any ideas for me ?

all the best,

julien

Hello, I am translating bbpress po file and when I press save in poedit I get error.

17:56:06: C:UsersZDesktopbbpen_EN.po:7: field `Project-Id-Version’ still has initial default value

17:56:06: C:UsersZDesktopbbpen_EN.po:4034: a format specification for argument 2 doesn’t exist in ‘msgstr’

17:56:06: msgfmt: found 1 fatal error

How to fix this?

BB attachement plugin cannot be activated.

Published on October 27th, 2010 by su131

I use WordPress 3.0.1 and BuddyPress Plugin. Installed the latest version of bb attachment plugin from this site but when activated gives the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function bb_get_option() in /home/www/bla-bla/wp-content/plugins/bb-attachments/bb-attachments.php on line 74

The line itself is as follows:

$bb_attachments=bb_get_option(‘url’).trim(str_replace(array(trim(BBPATH,”/\”),”\”),array(“”,”/”),dirname(__FILE__)),’ /\’).’/icons/’;

Could you, guys, help me with resolving it please :)

Thank you thank you :)

This topic has been closed (platform pro theme)

Published on October 27th, 2010 by spenderr

i’m unable to post a new topic on my forum. it just gives “this topic has been closed”.

i have integrated BBPress with WordPress and installed the platform pro theme which all looks fine and i login to wordpress and don’t have to login again when i go into the forum.

if i go back to the default theme there is no problem with posting a new topic.

this is the thread in the pagelines forum where we have been discussing this issue.

I really like the layout on this site, but haven;t really been able to find one that looke like it.

Is the theme available for download and/or is there another theme that will give me the same look as https://bbpress.org/forums/

how to submit a plugin to BBpress?

Published on October 26th, 2010 by Abdessamad Idrissi

Hi there,

I developed a plugin today that allows to import users from BBpress bb_users table to WordPress.

I wanted to publish it here but the Add your plugin link at https://bbpress.org/plugins/ is telling me: You can add the plugin you’ve written to the plugin directory by filling out the form below…

the problem is that, there’s no form out there :)!

any idea?

Idiots guide to installing

Published on October 26th, 2010 by Craftsaddict

Please please I’ve spent hours and hours trying to install bbpress which apparently should only take 5 minutes. Could any body please hold my hand through the process.

Where exactly do I put the folder “bbpress” at when i open my FTP

How exactly do I put bbpress at craftsaddict.com/forums

I know this should be foolproof but I need help. Thank you so much in advance.

Joomla

Published on October 26th, 2010 by amagab

I need a forum for my Joomla site and really like bbPress. I don’t have any users on my Joomla side so the forum will run its own members, which is fine and how I want it.

However, it is very important that the forum integrates somewhat with my Joomla template.

Has anyone done this? Is there a good guide? What is the best way to integrate bbPress with my Joomla template? It doesn’t have to be perfect but I want it to look unified.

Thank you!
