Hi, I followed the instructions:
# Download bbPress from the download page
# Upload the uncompressed files to your server
# Visit the intended URL of the bbPress site
# You will be greeted with the bbPress installer
When I go to the URL of the site I get an error msg:
“Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.”
So it will not unzip and intall so I cannot go any further!
Can I manually unzip and upload the files?
Not a good start is it…

Installation complete with “minor errors” From the installation log, the process was successful until it tried to create a forum. “Cannot create a forum” error occurred. Forum integration does not appear on the WP dashboard. Reinstallation yields, “bbPress is already installed”

My forum (http://www.nbascoreboard.net/forums) runs ‘Akismet’ and ‘Human Test for bbPress’ plugins. This prevents most spam. However, I’m having an issue where a spammer is making posts (‘xnpn’ plugin tells me so) but these posts don’t show up under ‘Topics’ or ‘Posts’ in my bbPress Dashboard.
The only evidence is the tag cloud on the right includes the tags. But then when I click the tag, I still don’t see the post. Have a look at the site linked above.
The spammer does show up as a User, but the profile doesn’t show any topics or replies. How can I combat this problem?
Thanks.

Does BBPress have an option for registered members to see unread posts since their last visit?

hi,
I don’t know what’s going on but the site is acting weird from time to time (seems bugged)
. Few days ago I couldn’t register and now it seems I can’t post comments in the plugin page.
Anyways, I just recently discovered bbpress and it immediately caught my attention.
I tried to install the following plugin https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/facebook-graph-connect/ but I’m having some troubles with it. once I have followed the instructions I tried to test it by register via it, so I accepted the FB app req. and then when I got ‘re-directed’ to my site it just kept refreshing and wouldn’t stop. So I went back in to deactivate it however now my forum has ‘disappeared’. you can’t see any of the forums unless you login nor the search bar etc. just wondering if I could get some help. I know it’s in beta and all but if there is a fix let me know otherwise I’ll have to re install bbpress
* reason to I’m posting this here is of course because I can’t post on the plugin page itself, as I explained above.. weird bug:P

First off, I am new to bbpress forums. Secondly, I was in the market for a WordPress theme so I was visiting Themefuse.com. I was in their Support Forum and really loved it’s usefulness, yet simplicity. I asked the owner what forum it was and he said bbpress.
My question is this – is that forum an “out of the box” forum or is he using a lot of plugins. Like for instance, the main forum, when you click on a board it slide open to show sub forums. Is that a plugin?
Also, when you login it will show my personal topics in a box in the sidebar. Again, a plugin?
He also uses a Resolved/Not Resolved for his threads – a plugin?
Sorry so many questions – trying to learn before diving right in.
