Good day,
I have BuddyPress installed and oddly enough, when I attempt to access http://domain.com/forums/forum/general for example, it simply redirects me to my homepage.
Whenever I disable BuddyPress, the bbPress forum loads up like a champ. What could be causing the redirect?
My index.php isn’t even used for this by the way. I’m using a static homepage as specified in my “Reading” options in WP. All loops are standard, headers and footers all include the wp_head() and wp_footer(). Weird how it only seems to happen when BuddyPress is enabled.
Hi; just checked the translation of bbPress 2 over at https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/ and it’s seemingly lacking these two strings:
“This category contains %1$s and %2$s, and was last updated by %3$s %4$s ago.”
“This category contains %1$s and %2$s.”
Hi guys!
I really can’t wait to start working with BP 1.5 and BB Press 2.0!
I’m just going through a homepage redesign in preparation for upgrading.
I was wondering, if I wanted to give users a sneak peak at what was going on in the site forums, could I somehow add say the latest 5 topics to the homepage in the same kind of layout that you would see in the forum directory?
Is there a shortcode for adding anything like that to a page?
Would be awesome if possible!
Thanks!
Added the forum shortcode to a page which works fine but when I click on the forum link all I get is my header and breadcrumbs. Did I set it up wrong or is there something wrong with my theme?
Hello, I am getting PHP error listing sbove my bbPress forum and admin panel.
Forum: https://i.imgur.com/mXHnU.png
Admin: https://i.imgur.com/UECSk.png
Please help!
So on my localhost site all the moderator buttons like merge, split, close and all that work fine. on my live site they do not work…at all….Ideas?
Where can I change what html tags you are allowed to use. because for admins it said “you can use unrestricted html how ever the only html tag that works for me is em tag.
another thing that doesn’t work is the paragraph formatting…you see this post as paragraphs, how ever on my live site you would see it as one large paragraph.
Can some one give me ideas to fix these issues?
Why is does even BBpress 2 looks like all other crappy forum plugins for WordPress like Mingle forum, or WP forum?
Why the conception was changed? How to make BBpress 2 looks like good old BBpress
(I obviously mean about 1 main board, and categories on sidebar)
Hi, I’d really like my new registered users to get an email from the forum to say thanks for registering, rather than me having to do it manually from my email address everytime I get an email.
Is this possible?
Cheers
Hello, I did a search but could not find anything, is there anyway to disable tags? I just want it so people only need post the message, not worry about tags.
Thankyou.
I know this has been mentioned in topics elsewhere but there’s so many topics in this forum that I can’t find them at the moment and thought it was time this was asked again.
When topics and posts are deleted they are just set not to display in the front end of the forums. However, there is a bug that if a topic with a single post, ie a spam topic, is deleted, all the previously deleted posts including all the spam magically reappears all through the forum topics.
This is obviously a rather serious bug. Has this been addressed in the most recent bbpress? We are currently running 1.0.3 and I thought it was supposed to be fixed in that version but it hasn’t.
I am now marking spams etc as spam rather than deleting them, hopefully this will fix the issue.
However, it brings up another issue, and that is that there’s no simple way to delete posts etc permanently from the db without doing it manually through sql.
Again, this is a huge omission from the software.
So, my question is, has anyone written a plugin to do this, or are these probs being addressed? Anyone got any info on the status of these probs?
I’ve had to go back and redelete spam so many times it’s not funny, I want working forum software, not a hobby, I’ve got better things to do, as I expect many other bbpress users do too.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate all the work that’s gone into bbpress and its plugins, but it’s kind of hard to fathom these sorts of omissions from what is otherwise quite a good system.
