By default, the URL for a forum is:
http://www.mysite.com/forums/forum/forum-name/
I would like it to be:
http://www.mysite.com/forums/forum-name/
However, if I simply blank the forum slug in Settings > Forums, I get:
http://www.mysite.com/forums//forum-name/
The second slash gets stripped out, and I get a Not Found page.
The closest I’ve been able to find to a solution is to uncheck the “Prefix your forum area with the Forum Base slug” box, to get the opposite effect, but that has a “recommended” next to it so I’m antsy about unchecking it.
Is the behavior I want possible in bbPress?

Please can someone guide me how to resolve the following issue:
<p>This webpage has a redirect loop
The webpage at http://www.ichatnigeria.com/groupforum/topic/corruption-perception-index-2011 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
Learn more about this problem.
Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.</p>
When users submits their post at the bbPress/BuddyPress Forum, it takes more than 2 minutes for the page to load and will in the end give a 301.
Is there any known plugin having conflicts with bbPress?
Thank you!

My forums have been up and running for well over a year now with no issue and I haven’t changed anything recently at all, but all of a sudden starting yesterday I started getting emails from people saying no posts are showing up, like they all disappeared.
You can see all the topics and post counts are still there but when you click through any topic, nothing is there and even in the admin when clicking on “posts” it says “no posts found”
I’m really hoping there’s some way to recover them and find out what may have caused this so randomly out of nowhere.
You can view the forum here:

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated…
Thanks!

I installed WordPress and BuddyPress, but found out that a moderator has no control over approving comments in forums. Our site requires that.
Then I found a plugin that allows me to moderate a forum in bbPress, which gives me hope that I could utilize bbPress for the forums, the plugin for the moderation/approval, and BuddyPress for the membership aspect.
Is this a realistic scenario? Or should I be using WordPress alone to give me the membership aspect and use bbPress with the plugin to create the forums?
I really like the way BuddyPress models the social aspect, but the main thing for me is the moderated and approved traditional “forum” aspect.
If anyone can give me some timely advice, it would be much appreciated.

Just put out a new integration for bbPress (free) inside of the PageLines Platform/Store
The integration supports drag and drop placement, meta options, color changes and more.
Would love the feedback of the bbP community.

I’m simply trying to setup a main forums page using shortcode and have the “forums” link in the breadcrumb link to this main forums page.
I tried naming the page forums to align with the forums archive slug. This didn’t work.
I tried making a page using shortcode and it worked; however, now when someone drills down into the forums and topics, the default “forums” link in the breadcrumb defaults to a useless page.
I’m sure I’m missing something simple but brain is fried and I could use some help.

I’m looking for the location where to edit copy in the registration widget
“Your username must be unique, and cannot be changed later.
We use your email address to email you a secure password and verify your account”

It appears that in my individual forums the content is in the header and is making it full width. I need it to be placed next to the sidebar in the pagelines_content area. Anyone have any ideas why it would be doing this or how I can fix it? Here is a preview: http://proof.saamadesign.com/forum/base/forum/this-is-a-test-forum/
Thanks!
