bbPress.org

I have a fresh multisite/buddypress/bbpress.   I installed sitewide forums and made sure group functionality was turned on for forums.  This is on a sub site with buddypress multisite turned on.  I had previously had the same issues I have now on a already installed site.  Because of these issue I scrubbed the install, wiped the database and reinstalled fresh.  I still have this issue.  when I create a topic from buddypress group forum page it goes to a blank page with this error

“<br /> <b>Fatal error</b>: Call to undefined function bb_get_id_from_slug() in <b>/home/spanef/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums/bp-forums-functions.php</b> on line <b>178</b><br />”

I have seen previous solutions about deleting the forum ids in bp_group_meta which i did and upon recreation still didn’t work.

I have the newest wordpress, buddypress and bbpress .  This is a fresh install.   Do you have any idea what i can do, I have to have this working.

Hi, I’m somewhat of a WP newbie. I’ve been able to get my WP site up and recently added bbPress. I created a Forums page at : http://flomio.com/forums/forum/ask-the-flomies/

For some reason I don’t see any of the “Create New Topic” widgets or WYSIWYG editor rendered in the page. I am able to create Forums and Topics from the WP Admin page but these don’t seem to be rendering in the forums page either. All I find is a right-side panel that shows my “active forums” and my login profile.

I’m using the Propulsion theme from woothemes and Googling around suggests that it should play nicely with bbPress. Any ideas, help, input is much appreciated.

From the documentation I can tell that the ‘Auto Role’ applies the default user role to new user accounts. However since ‘Auto Role’ is not turned on by default I’m curious what the default behavior is? Or more importantly, why isn’t ‘Auto Role’ enabled by default?

I just installed bbpress and am quite impressed. Unfortunately, though I need a solution that works in a message board format, where topics are started and replies to those topics all show up in one big list, instead of breaking them down into their own sub categories. An example of this would be the forum on Stockhouse, found here http://www.stockhouse.com/companies/bullboards/bb?s=BB&t=LIST.

Is this possible with BBpress?

I’m trying to use Group Forums on my website and it’s causing redirect loops like this:

Both newly created forums as well as old converted ones (re-linked with Forum Tools) cause this error. Disabling the group forums functionality fixes it. I’ve tried disabling all other plugins as well as changing themes, doesn’t seem to matter.

Any idea what might cause this?

For users that are experiencing 404 issues for non-admins, it’s likely another plugin that’s causing the problem. In some cases, it might actually be BuddyPress, as I found a bug and fixed it yesterday. 🙂

If you’re having these issues, share what plugins you have active, and let’s see if we can sniff out what’s going on together.

I am having an issue with permalink duplication of topics. When one of my users creates a topic with the same name as a previous topic the backend correctly serializes the permalink (i.e. domain.com/forums/topics/math-4) but in the front end the link is always to domain.com/forums/topics/math and that link shows all of the topics that had the name math. Furthermore, if you actually go to domain.com/forums/topics/math-4 it comes up as a 404.

This would not be a problem except if the wordpress visual editor is used for replies the users cannot type anything unless they first click on the html editor tab.

You can see many topics that have the name “math help” these have the issue. I have disabled the visual editor in order to temporarily fix the problem.

I am using wordpress version 3.4.2 and bbpress version 2.2.4

How does bbpress.org limit the top-bar posting options to just a “Create New Topic”? We’d really like to do the same for our site, but currently it’s just showing New – ‘Post’, ‘Media’ and ‘Site Features’ (that one’s specific to our theme). This is really confusing to our users.

I’m working on an educational site, and would like to provide some different options for interacting on the forum that don’t require typing. It’s basically allows you to quickly response with, Like, Love, Agree, Disagree, Promote, Off Topic, Insightful, etc…

Is there anything like this for bbPress?
