Hello,
My import from vanilla has been running for about 3 days (old forums with lots of posts) and I also imported users. Lots of stops and starts (SO GLAD it picks right back up). The one issue I can see as I peek at what has been loaded is that the users are not being assigned correctly to the posts. Since it has taken so long I have zero interest in trying to start the process over (it is currently 43k replies out of 150k in) so I am planning on attempting to remap them myself via mysql. I am very comfortable doing to sql using the vanilla db as an xref to the new users IDs (I do oracle development for my 9-5) but just wanted to see if there were any gotchas I should look into.
These will first be tested on copies of the tables of course or maybe even mapped through views to test but outside of the post_types of ‘topic’ and ‘reply’, is there anything else I’ll need to look at or think of?
Thanks & wish me luck!

So I may have stumbled on an issue with bbpress 2.2.4, but here’s to hoping it’s just an error on my end. I tried searching the forums and was unable to find anything.
Currently using bbpress 2.2.4 on WP 3.5.1.
When I create a hidden forum, all is well and the forum is hidden from participant users. However, if a participant user goes to the profile page of an admin and clicks “Replies Created” they’re able to see all posts, including those in Hidden forums.
http://www.gizorama.com/forums/users/admin/replies/
Every post, hidden & unhidden, shows in the replies page. If viewing the forum as a participant, only post #8242 (Off Topic) should show, every other post is in a hidden forum.

Hello.
I want to have 2 forums on my site. One is a public and another is a private forum.
The private forum is going to be restricted to a determined user group.
Is it possible to do this with bbPress?
Thanks!

I’m using the newest versions of everything (wp, bbpress) but the forum index is showing up in what appears to be a preview box? Maybe? Not really sure whats going here. But any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve left a link to an image that shows what i’m talking about.

I am currently creating my first wordpress theme. I want it to be compatible and work with bbpress, but i’m running into some snags.
First off, I would like the “fancy editor” or “visual editor” to be available to users replying to and creating forum topics. But the Visual editor does not work, you cannot click on its tab to switch to it, you are forced to use the html editor. I do have the fancy editor option enabled in the bbpress options.
When i activate the twenty ten theme the Fancy Editor works as intended. But not with my theme im developing.
Is the a theme option, or theme support I need to include in my functions.php to get the fancy editor to work?
Thanks.

The bbPress Examples page – https://bbpress.org/about/examples/ – contains some broken links. Is there any way of removing these?
The links in question are:
http://www.taiwantalk.org/
http://metalwebonlineradio.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi
Additionally, the following featured URL can’t be viewed unless the user pays a membership fee to the site:
http://devpress.com/forums
Finally, the link to the SWNK forums – http://www.swnk.org/forums/ – features in both the “Favourites” and the “Noteworthy” sections of the site. Shouldn’t it only appear in one of these sections?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi.
I haven’t found an option to shift certain forums on bbPress up or down on the page. I’ve searched on the internet but the only results that come up are ones to do with exporting and importing forums or moving topics to different forums. I’ve made an Introduce Yourself forum on my site’s forum but it’s all the way at the bottom and I want new users to notice it but I couldn’t find a way to move it to the top of the page. Is this possible, and if so, how?

I have tried to upgrade my install of bbpress from 1.0.2 to 1.2 (so I can migrate to the plugin version) several times now and I only get a white page. I verified my versions…
WordPress 3.5.1
PHP – 5.3.3
MySQL – 5.1.61
I disabled all my bbpress plugins, copied over all the files, made sure my template files (custom theme) and my bb-config.php file were still there. I only get a white page after the upgrade. Page source says there is zero code in the page. I have seen other posts with this problem, but have not seen a resolution to the issue.
Am I missing something?

Hello,
After installing bbPress, enabling and adding a forum, when I navigate to the page of the forum I get a message ‘Content Not Found’. The same on TwentyEleven theme.
WP version – 3.5.1, latest bbPress,
What can I do?
Thanks in advance,
Jessie
